Man, I really wish I could take the summer off. That was originally my intention since I am moving this month and also because DH only left me 4 popsicles for 6 months. (Not intentionally, we just never had the opportunity to go back and do another freeze) When I told my RE that I wanted to try maybe every other month, he said that he would like to see me try at least throughout the summer because I don't have that many eggs. That was a really scary thing to hear at 28 years old. I mean, he's worried about how many eggs I have so bad that he doesn't want me to take even a month off?
So I would say....if your RE is ok with it, go for it! There are so many things that could happen to where you might not have a chance to take a break in the future. Plus vacations are much more fun without raging hormones
