It is a relief once you finally make the decision to adopt. But it can take a long while to get there, then you have lots of other decisions to make like what agency, what type of child, how old, etc.
I think if we had the money I might have gone on to try IVF with donor eggs, but it was way too expensive. Once the RE told me I could no longer try with my own eggs, and given the tremendous depression and heartache we went through during our two failed IVF tries, and the fact that we've been at this for 15 years, it really was time for us to move on or to decide to remain childless.

1st IVF August 2007 -- no embryos made it to ET.
2nd IVF January 2008 -- 4 embryos transferred BFN 1/30/08
May 2008 - Decided to look into adoption through the state. Started required parenting classes and getting portfolio together.
July 2008 - classes end July 1st. Then comes the homestudy
August 4th - Home study visit.
I finally finished our Portfolio check it out and give me your opinion
