Intro

Hi There!
My name is Jessica. I'm from Alberta, Canada. And I'm new to this forum. I'm actually pretty new to forums in general so forgive my slowness and my lack of understanding all the acronyms and stuff....
My hubby and I have been TTC for over 1.5 years now. We went to see my reguarl OB/GYN and she did that stupid dye test (ouch!) and told me my fallopian tubes were both blocked and that she was referring me to the Fertility Clinic. She also mentioned that if they were blocked, the fertiliy clinic would remove them and IVF would be our only option! I was horrified!
So we went to the Fertility Clinic where the doctor assured us that was not the case. And said he wanted to do some exploratory surgery to see what was wrong/going on etc...
they said my fallopian tubes were healthy and I had a small cyst on my ovary - which was a good thing because that meant I actually ovulate.

After testing my husband and finding some minor issues with him, and because I have some serious issues with my periods. My cycles last up to 55-60 days with a good 28 of them I bleed. HEAVY.

They decided we were good candidates for IUI (they did a Swim-up test on my Hubby and some testing on me).

So... We're embarking on our first IUI round starting yesterday actually. Day one of my cycle was yesterday. And I start taking clomid (2 pills per day for 5 days) tomorrow. After that I'm told my Hubby and I are to "make love" on the 9th of Sept, and then I'm to start pee'ing on a stick on the 10th of Sept to see when I'm ovulating.

I have a couple of concerns...

1) I'm freaked out about the Clomid. I'm already a hormonal nightmare, I feel like I should be on lockdown probably if I start taking clomid.

2) I'm concerned that the Clomid won't make AF go away... As I mentioned above, my period lasts forever sometimes up to 3-4 weeks. Soooo If I start taking clomid on day 3 of my cycle, will it make AF go away by the 9th of Sept?

3) I'm just terrified it won't work. Or it'll work and I'll end up with octuplets. :|

Any advice/support/stories/etc.. will help.

Also, does the actual IUI procedure hurt?

Thanks.
-Jess
