First of all there is no " quick fix diet program, or magic pill" if there were everyone would be skinny! I know I would be! What we are trying to do is get our bodies healthy enough to carry a healthy full term pregnancy with a little miracle waiting.. if you have pcos the first thing you do is start on 500 mg of time released metformin! for a whole year i took only regular metformin 500mg and no ovulation then i upped the dose to 1500 gradually over a few months period.. i would have like 42 day cycles, and that's just not going to get it! so, 7 months ago i went to 1500mg of time released metformin 500mg tablets 3 times a day. and i am proud to say that i have had perfect 28 day cycles i can even tell you exactly when i am going to start. now that is just a fraction of what needs to be done. losing the weight!! It's so hard! I am a carb addict and also food is or was my comfort. depression can cause weight gain and slow your metabolism quick! so you have to find inner strength and tell yourself this is for you and your baby! There are no quick fixes however i chose the nutrisystem program yes it is 300 a month and yes the food is horrible but it works and its so easy! and it comes with a excersize dvd that is so easy i mean pop it in the dvd player and 30 min later your done for the day and it really makes you feel good aboput yourself! so what ever program you use remember that 3 lbs a week is a healthy loss of weight any more than that can damage your heart and it is draining your fluids! i started the program 4 months ago when i started it i weighed 262 i am now at 227 this time next year i will be where i need to be.. I wish everyone the best! just remember there is no quick fix.

Oh God, I can totally relate to this...At eighteen my periods had all but stopped. At that time in my life I was hovering around 200lbs. A laparoscopy showed my ovarys were crystalized and my diagnosis was PCOS due to being overweight. Fast forward to my first marriage age twenty-seven and desperately wanting a child. By this time my weight had skyrocketed to 268lbs and I was miserable. So was my marriage but I just didn't realize it. I went to my doctor looking for a quick fix and she prescribed me both diet pills and what is now known today as Alli. I only managed to lose 20lbs on those drugs and had regained it in no time after stopping. During that time I discovered my husband had gotten another woman pregnant and our marriage was over. I was so devastated that I was dealing with infertility and health issues and instead of standing by my side and helping me work through the issues, chose to have his baby with someone else. For the first time in years I was free to do what I wanted and live my life how I wanted and I started focusing on me. It took me just about a year (ten months) but I managed to lose 110lbs through diet and excersise and low and behold my periods came back like clockwork. I could predict down to the time of day I would start menstruating...When I married my second husband Shane, the love of my life we started trying for kids right away and I found that I got pregnant like lightening...only now I had Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome and miscarried time and time again. I guess what I'm getting at is that if this is the focus of your life, your health and fertility, you CAN overcome the obstacles and have your baby. It's never easy but I think that's why women like us make such good mommies, because we've known the heartache and struggle of infertility and have done everything we can to OVERCOME THE ODDS. My heart goes out to you, the best of luck in your journey....
