Gosh, I don't know what happened to my post a while back and I have no clue what I said but I did answer Netty's questions:
1. How are your furbabies adjusting to their littlest siblings' arrival? (Caroline, Shellie, Celeste. . . perhaps you can chime in please!) My oldest dog knows something is about to pop, he refuses to leave my side and he is the one I am most concerned of some jealousy and rivalry.
My Marley girl is doing wonderful - she tries to "help" sometimes when the babies are crying which is a bit worrisome but she just tries to lick their faces or tell us that they are crying (as if there is any confusion about that one!), and she had the run of the house and could get on the bed, couch, etc. and she still does but surprisingly she is careful not to jump on them - she goes around and seems to know that they are fragile. This is gross but she does love formula and will lick it off their hands or if they spit up so we have to watch that!!! We are still extremely cautious with her in the room if we step out and they are doing tummy time or in the bouncers but she hasn't been bad at all.
2.Are you renting the breast pump from the hospital or are you trying one that you purchased? If you are trying one you purchased, which one are you using?
I am renting a Medela Symphony that they say you have to have if you are trying to pump for two, hospital grade, and if this is suppsed to be better I would hate to see how little I would get with a purchased one. I am planning to only pump until about 4 months so renting came out a bit better financially and I got a better a pump than I would have been able to purchase.
Claudia - the sleep deprivation is indescribable - if I had one piece of advice for anyone it would be to take advantage of your time in the hospital especially if you are having a c-section and let the baby spend some time in the nursery and get some rest - not that you can store it up but I overdid it way too much while in the hospital and then was just completely rundown and overly emotional and so, so tired and it was all a bad combo. I definitely might have to try that wrap - I have a sling that scares me to death so I don't use it because it seems to put their heads at unnatural, ridiculous angles!
