finally
finally someone who understands! girl I feel you! this unpredictable period mess is killer. I'm going on a year now. i've been dirving my hubby crazy!
The prometrium was supposed to try and regulate the periods as an alternative to BC. When I went to the OB in Feb. I told her that I was having issues with breakthrough bleeding and asked if we could do anything aobut it (other than BC). I would have refused BC anyway - I was not going to cover up any kind of potential problem. And I knew that we were going to want to "start trying" sooner rather than later - So anyway, prometrium is a pill from of progestrone. It thickens the uterine lining so that way there is no breakthrough bleeding. I think it's commmonly used for pregnancies also.
Hope that helps.
