I'm in the same boat. We have decided to move on to adoption as well and it's so overwhelming. I live in Texas and we will be going through a private adoption agency a friend of mine works for. We will either do domestic or legal risk children. Our only specification is that it's a girl between infant and 2 yrs. old. We already have a natural son. My DH is hispanic, so we are open to all races being that we are a bi-racial couple. I know the process includes an information meeting followed by 12 weeks of Saturday courses, homestudy and then waiting for a call. We are just hoping the process takes less than 2 years. I'm going to buy a few books this weekend. Also wanted to let you know that there is a tax credit of over $11,000 dollars to help you pay for adoption expenses. I also looked into international adoption, but felt there was too much red tape involved.
