TryingForOne,

I encourage you to look into what your health insurance covers. Call the insurance company (or your insurance coordinator at your work place), double check, triple check, to maximize what you can get your insurance to pay. And remember that they're hoops to jump through, with the consults, the ultrasounds, the medications, the procedures. Just go in prepared. If your insurance covers some medication, the clomid and femera is cheaper (small amounts of copay), whereas the IVF injections are EXPENSIVE, and require preauthorization, so get the clinic to help you push through the paperwork. Don't pay a cent out until insurance is sorted out.

Don't trust just one source when they tell you what is covered. The insurance coordinators at your doctor's office (if they have one) may not know the answer. So, you'll have to put in a lot of effort. Sorry, I really don't mean to scare you, I am just giving you advice that I wish somebody could've given me. And this is probably more information than you wanted...

There're also clinics that offer refund plans (I'd use them myself except I found out too late about them).

But please don't feel discouraged. These are all conquerable problems.

And if you and your DH decide to adopt, that's great too. Infertility is not easy, and the choicest you make will be difficult. But remember that whatever choice you make, it's right choice. But do move quickly.
