PCOS, birthcontrol & Clomid??
Hi, I came across this site & had to sign up, I dont know anyone with similiar problems as me, so i'm looking for some insight.. I may of posted this in the wrong forum section the 1st time, im sorry--new here!
I'm 24, DX with PCOS & Diabetes type 2 about 4 years ago, believe to of had it 9 years or so, never had a regular menses. Had BIG symptoms- gained 80 lbs within a couple years, facial & body hair growth etc..Was young & dumb, never took the birth control or Provera how I was supposed to. Didn't miss not bleeding!
Until this past year.. Met a wonderful man that I shared these problems that I let go of for so long since marriage & children talk came up.. I decided to go to the Dr 2 months ago to get some help to get regulated. He prescibed me Provera 5mg/10 days, Glucophage & TriSprintec ( recently lost insurance so thank goodness only had to pay $4 ea. with Target! ) Provera followed by TriSprintec during the month of April was a success, FINALLY had a cycle.. a painful one at that (it's been about 9 years since I really bled)
I haven't touched the Glucophage yet cus I was just thinking it was for my diabetes and in my mind I wanted to take care of 1 problem at a time.. But im seeing on here many of you are taking that to help with pregnancy! I planned on staying on the birth control another cpl months for a regular cycle while taking Glucophage NOW..
Basically, what im wondering is at what point is it safe to stop the birth control & start Clomid? Or do you take the 2 together? Im going back to the Dr in 2 months & want a list of questions.. My ultimate goal is to achieve pregnancy. And of course without the health coverage (inbetween jobs) it worries me if this is possible, what's the pricing for Clomid? How exactly does this work?
Any advice would be great! This is the 1st time speaking of this and I hope I get some type of feedback! Thanks so much in advance!
