Obviously none of us knows why it's us and not our neighbors, relatives, friends, etc. It is incredibly hard to keep your hopes up when it seems like every month you are further away from the goal, and everyone around you is getting pregnant so easily. The thing that kept me focused and sane was seeing my specialist, and having a plan in place that I understood. I felt that every month we were gathering data about how I responded to CLomid (for example) and, even though I didn't get pregnant, we were learning about my body with every blood test and ultrasound. It gave him the info he needed to change our plan so that I could end up pregnant. I clinged to the plan and hoped it worked, or that this long process would guide me to our child, whether I gave birth to it or someone else did.
