I have been there! Back in 2005 I pleaded for the hysterectomy. The doctors would not do it because I was so young. Good thing they didn't because in 2006 I had my dd.
Like you I had out of control bleeding. But it could be controlled by the birth control pill or Metformin. Would this be an option for you? I saw that you were on Met. but for how long?
Lastly, after birth of my dd I had to have an emergency hysterectomy. Let me tell you it's rough and as icky as my cycle was I would take that back any day. It's hard to explain how you feel afterwards. I guess to sum it up it doesn't feel as if your woman enough? I don't know if it makes any sense. But I feel as if a big part of who I was is gone.
While I can't say one way or the other what is best for you I just hope you way your options before you make your decision.

Best of luck to you.
