Oh, what a night...

I just tried to post this, but the website logged me out. I’ll try again.

Apparently my body doesn’t want me to have a boring 2ww. So we got up to NH with no issues last night. We had dinner, played cards, and I went to bed at 11. I woke up around 2 to pee, and when I did, I got excruciating, sharp stabbing pains in my lower abdomen. I tried to get back into bed in the hopes it would go away, but it only got worse. So I woke up DH and told him I thought I was going to puke, which I proceeded to do. The pain was so bad I couldn’t get up off the bathroom floor. I forced DH to call 911, and they sent an ambulance. Mind you, I’m really in the boondocks right now. After what felt like forever, they finally got there. As soon as they got me to stand up, I puked again. So they basically carried me to the stretcher and got me in the ambulance. Being in the boondocks, it took almost 40 minutes to get to the hospital! While in the ambulance, the paramedics gave me morphine for the pain and zofran for the puking. So I was feeling a buzz when I got into the ER. And what do you know…I was the only patient there! I had 4 nurses waiting on me! So they ran bloodwork and a urine sample and discovered everything checked out. To make a long story short, the ER doc talked to the RE on call at my clinic, and they both decided that I had a ruptured follicle. The puking was just a response to the extreme pain. I should have a small amount of pain for the next few days, but it should go away after that. They gave me Percocet just in case it gets worse. I talked to my nurse this morning and she said that all the meds they gave me are perfectly fine to take, and a ruptured follicle shouldn’t affect implantation. I’m really scared about it still, though. We finally got back at 6am, and I’m so exhausted. I was too tired and scared to cry last night, but I let it all out this morning. I really with all my strength hope it didn’t screw anything up. I’m just going to rest for the remainder of the weekend I think.

Now the funny parts of last night:
1. Since I’m in the boonies, the ER doctor had never seen anything worse than the flu I think. So I had to be the one to teach him all about IVF. Every time I finished a sentence, he would say “Wow, that’s fascinating!” It was a really strange experience.

2. At one point in the ER, the doc wheeled in an ultrasound machine. This thing looked like it was from 1997, but the ER doc claimed it was only a month old. The entire ER staff was enthralled by this thing. The doc then proceeded to slap goo all over my belly from just under my boobs to just under my belly button and show the nurses all my insides while he was checking for internal bleeding. Once he was done, he wheeled the u/s machine out to the nurses station, and they proceeded to ooh and aah over it. Again, very strange.

3. In the past 48 hours, I have managed to pee in a bedpan and a commode-on-wheels. I guess my bladder is equal opportunity.
to all the newbies!
Patilla – I’m thinking of you and for your fighters! They’ll make it through!

Stillwaiting and Mom43 – Thanks for the info on Estrace. It’s good to know I won’t be picking as many fights with DH.

Kellay – good luck! I knew someone who had an allergic reaction to progesterone and got a rash…not sure if that’s what you have, but hopefully it’s a good sign!

Lola – Yup, definitely with you on the bloating. My nurse told me at my last IVF that if I gain more than 4 lbs between ER and ET that it could be a sign of OHSS. Just keep drinking lots of fluids and eating protein!

I know I’m leaving some people out…so sorry. DH needs his laptop to do some work, so I’ve gotta hand it over. I hope everyone has a very good holiday!!
