Hi Klinzer,
I've been on Metformin for a few months now. My doc told me that most women with PCOS have high blood sugar levels and this is why metformin is prescribed to most women (metformin is apparently usually prescribed to people with diabetes). Like some of the previous posters have mentioned, diarrhea is the most common side effects. I find that when I'm eating healthy I don't even get that. I try to stay away from starchy foods and white breads, pastas, rice etc. and that usually helps. I stick to whole wheat when I feel the need for carbs and don't have any side effects. Sometimes, I do endulge in a piece of cake or nice fresh Italian bread or something like that, knowing full well that I'll be feeling the side effects in a few short hours.
Good luck on your journey of trying to get

!!
