Weight Loss with Lap Band before Treatment

Hi Ladies:

After reading alot of the posts, it seems as though there is an equal amount of doctors telling us (women with weight issues due to PCOS) that we should lose weight and some that don't. After everything I have researched and read and read and read some more, I can't help but think that maybe there is some truth to not only controlling the weight, but controlling the insulin resistance created because of what we eat. I was wondering if anyone here TTC has had any success with the lap-band procedure before starting any kind of treatment. I personally weigh 226 lbs. and could stand to lose weight. I am an active person, I walk quite a few times a week and joined the gym, and it seems pointless. I am certainly not looking for a quick weight loss solution, just some input from people that may be in this position. I have been TTC for quite some time now, and it seems as if my weight keeps going up and up and up. Our only reason for not conceiving is b/c I don't ovulate.

Sorry for the long post...Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
