Smile I've done two IUI's

Chloita, I've done it twice. My first IUI was in Feb, we were all pretty sure it wouldn't work , cuz the Clomid made my uterine lining too thin. The second one was in March, and although I am now at 24dpo, we still don't know if it worked. My RE wants me to POAS one more time tomorrow morning before coming in again. They are not that bad...the situation is almost identical to a pap smear, but the pain is worse. It's over quickly, though.
Here's what happens at our appts: My DH goes to the lab and collects his "specimen." Then they put it in a centrifuge to separate the good spermies from the bad ones. The good ones go into a liquid that looks kind of pink. An hour after he makes his deposit, we go into an exam room, and just like a pelvic exam, I undress the bottom half of me and cover up with a sheet. The doc and a nurse come in with a big syringe with my husband's name on it, they attach it to a catheter, open up my cervix just like a pelvic exam, then thread the catheter all the way up into my uterus (that's the part that hurts!) both times, I said "ouch," out loud and squeezed my DH's hand. Then they take it out after about 30 seconds of uncomfortableness (that may not be a word), they set an egg (tee-hee) timer for 20 min (but I lay there for at least 30--don't tell). Then they tell me to test in 14 days and they leave the room.
