It's my understanding that the Progesterone test is one of three tests to confirm that ovulation took place. My doctor also does an ultrasound to see if my lining changed and also checks for a corpus luteum. The corpus luteum produces progesterone until the placenta takes over. Also, a low progesterone level can put you at a high risk for miscarriage (which is why the prescribe the lovely progesterone suppositories).
Hope this makes sense. Your level looks great. Good luck with your test tomorrow.
Speaking of progesterone, has anyone had a shot to induce a period? We decided to take a break this month before our first IUI, but I never ovulated. Since I never ovulated they decided to give me the shot last Monday (day 20). I'm concerned that it didn't work. What is the next step if the Progesterone shot didn't work?
