You probably have to get one of those steam cleaners. Then go to your local pet store- they have products that are made to remove pet urine odor. Fortunately we haven't had that problem, but we bought a cheapy little steam cleaner at Target (for small pet areas) and use tons of resolve. We have a kitty barfer (Jake) and an iguana who likes to poop behind the stereo when she is pissed off. She has even pooped on the couch. Amazingly enough resolve took that out too (and iguana poo is not exactly solid).

I hope your doggie feels better soon. I like great danes...
