Always go with your gut feeling. If you're not getting the what you feel you need tested then I would go with a RE. I dont' know why they wouldn't test you for everything, it's just a blood test! I was going to ask you if your temps were low and if your luteal phase is short. Do you have a family history of hypothyrodism? Do you have any of the common symptoms (intolerance to cold, fatigue, constipation, weakness, weight gain or difficulity losing weight, dry coarse hair or hair loss), just a few of them? I really hate the endocrine system, it is really complicated! I hope to hear good new on 10/29 about the progesterone working. Do you notice a difference in your temps since you started taking it?
