Unhappy New to this

Hi,
I'm 21 and my partners 26,
We have been trying for over a year now and have just found out that i may have PCOS and he has a low sperm count. We are both very upset and having problem deal with it...We have both tried to talk to people about it but it just seems like no one understands what we are going through.

Smile Hi.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through this! It sucks!! I don't know much about POCS, sorry! My husband and I are both 24 and we found out a few months ago that I am fine, but he has really low morphology - 4 and it should be 14. He actually goes in for surgery this week to fix the vericoclele which will hopefully fix the low number! As for the low sperm count there are some things that you can try at home. I would go to your local library and check out some books on infertility, there are some books specific to male infertility and I know there are a bunch of books on POCS. I always feel that the more informed I an the more in control I am. There are also some vitamins that we found at Vitamin Cottage by Dr. Michael's that are called female and male reproductive factor's which are supposed to help things such as sperm count and help keep the reproductive systems working well. If you need anything else let me know! Also...not to be too forward but if you are feeling ashamed - as I was - there is nothing to be ashamed of...there was nothing that you did to cause this...I had to realize that and it took me a long time! Best of luck!!!

Hello and Welcome...

I can totally understand where you are coming from being worried and scared, but as a 23 year old with PCOS, I can tell you the diagnosis is probably the first of many upsets.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 16 months, and about 5 of them have been with a fertility doctor. First thing I did was Clomid and now I am moving onto injectibles. A lot of women, especially our age, take the clomid and get pregnant right away and never have any problems conceiving, but there are the ones who need to go through a lot more tests and move onto other options.

Don't let it stress you out right away, come here and vent and just go to teh doctor and keep trying. I mean what is the worst that can happen? It won't work adn you will jsut have to go back next month. It's a lot more common then you may think, adn a lot of the women on here are GREAT to talk to. Private Message me if you find out that you are doing Clomid, I woudl be happy to give you the inside scoop on what to expect and help you figure out what is going on with your body. have you been to a fertility specialist yet? Or did your Gyno diagnose you?

Good luck and we will be praying for you adn your hubby.
