I don't know what to do.
My name is Amy, I will be 30 in September. I have been married for 5 years & during our second year of marriage, I found out that I can't have any babies. The Dr told me that my ovaries are not working, he said that they are small. I haven't had a natural period since my 9th grade. I can have periods if I take birth control pills, but if I don't take bc pills I don't have periods. I want to have a baby so bad, I don't know what else to do. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there that has a similar problem and if they did, what did they do about it other than prayer.

Soki,
I went to my dr and he said it was because i was overweight. I went to a different dr and he sent me to a obgyn and he ran tests and he said that the ovaries are not working and there is nothing he can do. I asked my regular dr if I can take hormone pills or whatever it was that is in birth control to trigger my periods...other than that both dr's says that i am fine. |

Dont Give Up Faith!!!
Amy, Please what ever you do, do not give up faith. I am also overweight and was told by many doctors I will never have children because of weight issues causing me not to ovulate. Well surprise surprise! I found a doctor that is supportive and helping me and best of all it is working! My doctor prescribed a medication that is designed for Diabetes. Best yet most insurances will pay for it!!!!! However tests show for women not ovulating due to inslin resistance and or weight issues respond wonderfully to this medicine. After years of having blood transfusions for heavy bleeding and being told no way, I am ovulating on my first cycle ever! If you want more info just let me know. Thanks.

My doctor too just put me on a medication prescribed for diabetes. It's called Metformin. It's supposed to be better than Chlomid b/c Chlomid can increase your chance of cancer and multiple babies. Metformin is supposed to regulate periods and ovulation w/o the extra risks. It's kind of hard on your body (really uncomfortable side effects, diarrhea, etc) but if it works, It'll be so worth it. I've been taking it for 2 wks now. Hopefully we'll be pregnant soon!
