Welcome to hot, humid Houson, lili anne! I'm here also, and I wouldn't be so presumptious as to recommend any of the fertility specialists -- not that they're bad, it's just that everyone's needs are different. No doubt you've seen that we have a lot here, since we have one of the world's largest medical centers. The good thing about that is that if it's been invented or is being investigated, we can get it here. The bad thing is, as you've found, it's hard to choose.
I recommend you talk to several people for their anecdotes about the docs they know.
You can do that through the local RESOLVE organization:
http://www.resolveofhouston.org/ This is the largest/oldest infertility consumer org in the country. You'll see that the Houston group's annual symposium, which is a great way to hear/eyeball the experts, is on October 29. It does not cost to attend their more regular and casual informational meetings, but I do think that they reserve their Physician Referral services for paying members.
Or you can try the Physician Referral Network of the American Fertility Association -
http://www.theafa.org/professionals/mdreferral.html
The AFA is a newer organization than RESOLVE, and I have no idea how they create their referral database, but I believe it is available to anyone at no charge.
Good luck with your search!
