long cycles anyone?

hey all. first i want to say that i know that my 8 months of trying seem like nothing compared to many of you. my heart hurts for everyone that has to go through the pain of not being able to get pregnant. this is just much harder than i anticipated. my number one problem is that my cycles have become increasingly irregular. each month they get longer and longer. right now i am on day 53. it is awful. after i finally come to terms with the fact that i started my period i have to wait SO long before i ovulate. then, once i ovulate (or think i do) i wait just as long to see if things have finally worked. is anyone else experiencing this? how do you handle the feeling of having to wait SO LONG. forget the 2ww, more like a month wait. also, what is the best way to track ovulation with a long/irregular cycle.

FYI- i just finished reading The Conception Chronicles. it's a book written by 3 women who all had their own problems conceiving. it will make you laugh out loud, cry and realize that MANy women feel the same way as you. my prayers are with you all!

I would recommend reading Toni Weschler's Taking Charge of Your Fertility to get help in figuring out what's going on with your cycle. You say you also have to wait more than 2 weeks after ovulation which makes me think you're not ovulating when you think you are, because the luteal phase (post ovulation) is fairly set at 10-14 days or so (should be longer than 11). So if after tyou think you ovulate you're waiting longer than 2 weeks, something isn't right. You can also be having very early losses- are you doing HPTs? Anyway, that book will help a lot- teaches you how to chart your cycle. Also you might want to take "Fertility Blend for Women" (can get in thru Amazon) which may help to regulate cycles. If you have access to acupunture that almost surely regulate your cycles. Good luck.

i also have long cycles. I saw a gyno about this, they wanted to put me on provera to help. I decided against and went to see a homeopathic doctor, he put me on some "natural" meds and it all seemed to clear up...now here I am I probably on day 50 with very light spotting and two weeks ago the HPT said negative, twice!! (two weeks ago) I don't know what to do, I can't see my homeopath because I moved and I don't have a regular doctor here yet!! I feel your pain of not being able to figure out what the heck is going on with your body, I wish you luck with whatever avenue you persue!!

I also have long cycles. I was put on letrozole to help regulate them and it worked for 2 months and now this month I am on day 41 and no sign of my period. HPT was negative. I will need to do 10 days of Provera to start my period, then another round of letrozole and have an ultrasound on day 11 or so and they will be checking to see what my eggs look like. Just have to see what happens. Good luck to you.

I also have long cycles. Mine our very irregular too. One month I'll only have a 30 day cycle and then sometimes will go another 45 days before the next one starts.
