the waiting game

hey all. i hope that everyone is hanging in there and having a few good days mixed in with the bad. i have really enjoyed reading your posts, as they make me feel like i am not crazy. and i always keep you in my thoughts and prayers. right now i am just doing the waiting thing. i did my first round of clomid this cycle, i am now on day 22. i am supposed to take a preg test on day 35, which seems like decades away. do any of you have any suggestions for getting through the waiting phase a little easier? some days i just feel so great and positive, and then reality hits and i am scared. my husband said i shouldn't think that way (negatively) but some days i honestly can't help it. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks ladies~

The waiting game is terrible. I did my 4th IUI last week and I can take a PG test on the 28th...might as well be three months away My newest approach is not lying to everyone other than my husband about how I am doing. I don't think there is anything wrong with saying that you are anxious/nervous/scared. I am not sure what your approach has been in the past - but I used to lie through my teeth! You know...."I am remaining positive and hopeful"...."It's in God's hands"...."We are really doing Ok with all the stress"...give me a break! I don't think anyone really believes that anyway.

Just stay on the message boards for encouragement, take bubble baths, treat yourself. I have also found that retail therapy (i.e. shopping) can sometimes distract you for a bit. Just hang in there - YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!

Yes, avoid the baby section....shoes and handbags usually offer the most relief

lisv~

good luck with your first round of clomid. i hope i didn't scare you with my comment about my mood swings. it isn't too bad, and the side effects are different for everyone. it's tough to start out though, and i needed a lot of support from my husband. keep me posted and let me know if you have any questions or just want to vent about it. i think it helps to let it out and talk about it with people that are going through it at the same time!

No, you didn't scare me. I lost my mom about a year and a half ago and was on Paxil. Coming off of that has to be the most horrible things I've ever been through. I'm sure the mood swings from Clomid will pale in comparison. And, my husband was great through that. He really is a trooper. I will definitely keep you posted! And yes, it helps having other people to talk to about this. Thanks again!
