I'm 31 y.o. and I've been trying to get pregnant for 12 months, I was easily pregnant in the past and terminated (abusive relationship)My husband is fertile, two children from previous relationship, My cycle is 28 days, I show all signs of ovulation around day 14, (+ test strips, cervical mucus testy+) Dr. says I'm probubly fine, and to wait another month or two, then start Clomid Rx, I can't help but think Im being punished for a choice I made long ago, and that I might never get pregnant, the worst is seeing my cousins get pregnant, going to baby showers, having ultrasound pictures thrown at you, seeing the babies after they are born, it's not that i am resentful, I just can't stop thinking this might never happen, and worse since my husband has 2 previous children, i can tell that that he isn't too concerned if we dont' have one. Now I'm finally ready, scared, fustrated, sick of negative pregnancy tests!!!!!!!!, I guess Clomid is the next step, but I'm confused, and Help here???

I also have very regular cycles (28 days), and know I ovulate by OPK and other signs. My Dr. had put me on clomid to 'increase the quality of the eggs', although all my blood work as always come back fine. I did get pg on clomid (ended in m/c), so she told me to continue to take it. I have done 7 cycles. The side effects of clomid suck- hot flashes, weepy, just like bad PMS, but for some reason, just being on it and knowing I am doing SOMETHING, makes me feel better.

and Good Luck!! The whole IF journey can be scary but exciting at the same time. The end result is what makes us keep going!! However, it can be a very emotional roller coaster at times with all the meds and frustrations of docs, etc. Clomid seems to be the first line med for IF. What dose will you start on? I've learned the s/e can be very different for everyone. I was on 50mg and didn't have much problems or s/e from it, just some hot flashes and a dull headache that lasted about 1-2 weeks. The hot flaashes happened while taking the pills, the headaches didn't come until closer to the end of my cycle, the effects of Clomid can linger throughout your cycle month. Now, my last dose of Clomid was 150mg, and I didn't have any hot flashes but experienced nervousness and have had the most horrible headaches (migraine type) for about the last week or so. Hopefully you'll do well and won't have to be on it for too many months!! You may just need that extra kick to make it happen! Good Luck!

Hello! I totally understand what you mean about baby showers and stuff, it stinks! It seems like it comes easily to everyone around you.

Good that your doctor wants to try something different if what you have been doing isnt working. I know everyone is different, but here is my advice. I stayed with my regular obgyn through two years of unsuccesful trying. She did everything from a lapscope to clomid. I finally asked to be refered to an RE. He found a problem on my 1st visit (elevated progesterone). My Obgyn had never even tested for that. Clomid, for me, was a nightmare. Hot flashes, mood swings, headaches, etc. Plus, it really screwed up my cycles (turns out it elevated my already elevated progesterone....the exact opposite of what I needed). So here is my point....if you are not already seeing an RE, get a referal before you start on meds. RE's are trained to look for things that your obgyn may not think to test for. Good luck, I am sure you will have a in no time!!!!!

it was good hearing from you, somehow I feel better already, I drives me crazy that my cycle seems fine but then nothing happens. did you ever concieve before clomid??? thanks for the support

I totally understand what your saying!! I am on my second cycle of provera, and clomid 50mg. When my cycle came on friday I cried like a baby!!...Godsh..it so hard, and it seems like everyone I see is pregnant, my sister and I were trying ttc at the same time, and guess what shes preggers??? and I went to walmart last night with DH and every women I saw was preggers...I had to pray because girls its so hard!! I know what you are going tho, and keep the faith, and ur angel will come!! and dont beat ur self up for a past mistake!! Much love, and support.

Dont think you are being punished for something. I have thought that all along my journey also. I know how it can be. VERY!!! I have been TTC 5 years. I am on day 3 of and i get to start my first cycle of clomid. I am and it works. I have had 2 MC's. I wish you the best of luck and !! If you need someone to talk to feel free to email me. Just try to stay calm and not stress out about it...easier said than done I know! I am on my second cycle of Clomid and during my first cycle I didn't really have any s/e until about 1 week later. I was the biggest B in the world. My dh kept asking me what was going on. I cried for everything and the littlest tiniest things made me so ! It was a really hard time in our marriage. I didn't realize it was from the med's until I thought about it and talked to others. I figured it was out of my system by then, but I guess not. I also had extremely senstive nipples for like three weeks before AF came. I've had that before during natural cycles but only for a two days or so. It was difficult and uncomfortable but worth it if I can get pg.

I have finally bought a OPK this month and am hoping it helps us out. My DH is getting really frusterated with this stuff. He is a father of a beautiful 8 year old boy that was conceived while he was in H.S. He just keeps talking about how it shouldn't cause me so much stress and I shouldn't be using meds and OPK to do this. He has faith it will just happen and that people 50 years ago sometimes had to wait 5 years to get pg and there was nothing they could do about it. I totally see his point, but at the same time I don't know what it would do to me to have to wait 5 years and then chance that I might not be able to get pg with out help. We are all in this together and sometimes we need out DH more than they know and that helps, but sometimes we need other women in the same boat more! Good luck to you and and everyone out there!
