Heart First Time...Posting...A little Intro

Hello everyone. I just thought I would start by giving a little introduction to myself.

My name is Courtney. I have been married for 2 years now. I have a wonderful husband whom I fortunately had as my best friend first.

I took birth control for about 2 years prior to marriage (to regulate my cycle), and one year after. We have been hoping to get pregnant since May of 2006. I have been charting since June of 2006. We thought it would be sooo easy to get pregnant. I was 21, he was 22. We were both healthy and active people. Unfortunatley, my left ovary is enlarged, showing signs of PCOS, as well as my lack of a period without taking prometrium to jump start it.

I have 4 sisters, whom all have kids, or are pregnant. One is due any day now, and another is due in August. I am very anxious and excited about welcoming my new niece and nephew into our family, but at the same time, it sucks. No woman in my family has ever had to "try" to get pregnant. With that being said, I guess you can figure how complicated and uncomfortable it can be even talking to my sisters about trying for a baby. They are supportive for the most part, but occassionally, just don't understand.

My husband was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when we were dating. But last year, it got more aggressive and went from uc, to refractory colitis, causing him to have to undergo a number of surgeries. He is well now, and progressing wonderfully. Fortunately, the surgeries did not affect his fertility in any way.

We have been taking a break from actively TTC, because he is not working right now, and as a man, he feels he needs to be back at work before he can 'risk' me getting pregnant. I understand where he is coming from, but as time goes by, it gets harder and harder to wait. When he does go back to work, I will start my first cycle of Clomid to ovulate, as I currently don't ovulate on my own.

Sorry for such a long story, but that's actually short compared to every detail I could have gone in, lol. But thanks for reading.

I hope to get some encouragement, and send some to others here.

Welcome and good luck! I hope it works for you, my friend got preg with clomid (she had ovulatory disfunction too!) I tried clomid, but had endo. So what I really needed was surgery then fertility treatment. Tried IUI once but developed cysts from HCG injection, they are better now. Going to IVF, been trying for 3 years. I am 33 and hubby 38, time to get serious.

It is hard for people to understand unless they have walked in our shoes. People say the worst things sometimes! I just try to remeber that they have good intentions so I don't get mad.

On another note, take good care of yourself. I use accupuncture for fertility and insanity And it helps tremendously!!

anyway enough babeling...Good luck and stay in touch
