Kylie! You've come to a great place for information and support. It's hard when your family and friends just don't get it, but there are lots of women here that are in the same situation as you and your fiance and know what you're going through. I hope you get some treatment suggestions from your Dr. soon and your soon after!

Hi,
Totally agree with you...you can feel very alone and like nobody understands - so great to talk to people in the same situation. I'm only in the testing stage at the moment too but hopefully will be able to start tx soon. At what point did everyone tell friends and family? I'm not sure if I should tell them at all??? Or if I do...when I should tell them? xxx

Belle, my DH and I haven't told our parents yet and I don't think I will until I make it through a 1st trimester. I know my mom wouldn't understand; she planned her pregnancies and got pregnant the months she tried! (My brothers and I are EXACTLY 3 years apart- to the month!) My mom is also very opinionated about tx and I don't need that stress. My friends, on the other hand, have been a great support system, and I'm glad I told them (just my very closest girls) although none of them have gone through IF.
I guess it just depends on your relationship with your family and friends- if you think they'll be supportive, then I'd tell. If you think they will bother you more and cause any stress, then I'd keep it private for now. Good luck!

Hi Kylie,
I'm 28 & Have Been Ttc For Over A Year Now. I Am On My 5th Round Of Clomid With No Luck Yet. I Have Read A Couple Of Books That Say Seeing A Specialist Sooner Rather Than Later Is The Best Thing To Do. Especially If Your Dr Is Wasting Time & Not Giving You The Info You Need. I Was Nervous At 1st To Be Sent To A Specialist(like It Meant I Had Real Problems), But Now I Am Looking Forward To It. My 1st Appointment Is In A Month. I Would Rather Go Ahead & Get Down To Business!! Cassy |
