Annual Visits to the Gyn

We don't really think about having to see drs on a regular basis when we are in our 20s. We imagine we'll live forever and all will be fine. But there are still issues that can arise without even knowing it. So, it's critical for all of us to get an annual gyn checkup and PAP smear at the dr's office. After all, who hasn't heard about a woman in her 20s who had breast cancer or someone younger than 35 experiencing early menopause?? While these things are very rare, it can certainly happen.

And with it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I ask all of you to make your annual appt to the dr and to check yourself monthly.

youk are so right...i didn't think anything could be wrong with me...i have two kids from a PM, and thought it must just be bad timing...so we got one of the home sperm kits, and it was normal. so i went to my dr. to get checked, and it turned out i had HPV and cervical cancer in the early stages. Its not a problem now, and even the HPV is gone, thank God. Just like the commercial says, I want to tell someone..
Good luck to all

I am a big one on making sure that if nothing else my annual is scheduled every year. I may not always make it to the eye doctor on an annual basis or to the dentist every six months but each March I call in and schedule my annual for April and my OB loves that.

Scary thing is I never went to the Gyno until I got married last year... I went in December for the first time when i was 23! The OB was not happy to say the least. I now am pregnant so I will be seeing her again soon, but I will be sure to make it there annually after.
