Hi all! I am a 26 y/o female from Indiana and we are ttc our first baby. I recently had lap to remove endo and RE said it would be "highly unlikely" to conceive naturally. Our post-op is tomorrow and we will outline our treatment plan.
Just wondering where everyone else is in their treatment plans since I will have lots of questions as we embark further on this looooonnnngggg journey. Any IN girls here?

Hey Wally! Indiana girl here! We have been trying for about 8 years for our first. I also just had a lap on 3/15 (my second). My second post-op is on 4/21 (I had some swelling that we had to take care of).
Where are you from in Indiana? I live in Carlisle which is between Terre Haute and Vincennes (southwest). I see Dr. Gentry in his Evansville office. Welcome to the group and good luck on your post-op!!!

Oh My Gosh....
You girls have completely brightened my day. I needed a bit of cheer before I head off to work.
We live about 30 miles north of Fort Wayne. Natenang654 - We see Dr. Bopp also !!!!! I have to say that he is a wonderful doctor and I have never heard any back comments about him before. Cryinginside -- Thank you for the warm welcome as well. I think we are all in very similar situations, just having some laps done and all. I will try to update tonight about post-op appt, but we also have to visit my good friend in the hospital. She just delivered her 1st (lucky one who got pregnant a month off of b/c). Have a good day girls!!

I'm not from Indiana - but I'm your neighbor in Illinois. I was reading your comments and had a question on a lap procedure and since you all have had one done I figured this would be a great place to ask: What is the recovery time for a lap? How long does the procedure take (I assume it's out patient) and how long were you out of work to have it done?
Good luck to all of you...sounds like you're on your way!

ARoberts-I was off of work for one full week. I had planned to go back sooner but had some swelling that was very painful. I was also off of work for a week with my first one because it was not a sit-down kind of job. My first one took about 2 1/2 hours because there was alot of stuff to get rid of. The second one took about an hour. I was in the hospital from 8AM to about 2PM I think. I can't remember how long I was there on the first one.
I've heard of people having it done on a Friday and being back to work on Monday. It really depends on what all they find and how much work they need to do.

Hello ladies! I am from South Bend, Indiana and TTC my first for 3 1/2 years now. I have been seeing my OB until last month where I saw an RE, Dr Jarrett for the 1st time. I really like him and he diagnosed me with an ovulation disorder. So come May I will be doing letrozole, IUI w/injectables, HCG trigger shot and progesterone supplements. The nice thing is that I can have everything done at my regular OB's office(unless it falls on the weekend!)

How my post-op went....
Nice to see so many IN girls here! I just wanted to update everyone on my lap post-op appt.
RE said I have stage 4 endo in addition to PCOS. Hubby has global sperm issue with all three sperm counts low. So he said our best bet would be to do IVF and even that would be a challenge. Not the best news, but I knew we would be facing a lot of challenges. Has anyone here done IVF? We are VERY worried about the cost . If you guys don't mind sharing, what are you paying for a single IVF cycle? Are any of you doing the Shared Risk Program that is offered in so many clinics?

We did one round of IVF. My RE didn't offer a shared risk program and out of pocket I spent $10,500 as my insurance doesn't cover infertility expenses. I never made it to transfer in that cycle otherwise the out of pocket expenses would have been greater.

Hey girls!
I've been traveling for work this week and haven't had time to catch up here.....just have a few mins and I need to get going - I'm traveling to Indy today for work AND my AP appt (got to get in as much IF stuff as I can!!! ;-) Wally865 - we are happy with Dr. Bopp, too! So far, so good! We have my post-lap appt on Monday and are expecting to move forward with IVF #1 - we are paying out-of-pocket and considered the shared risk. We have chosen to do 1 cycle first and see where we are at......keep us posted! ARoberts26 - my lap was on a Thurs afternoon, I do not remember much of Thurs pm, Friday, or Sat - Sunday was the 1st day I felt better - I went to work on Monday because I had a meeting - otherwise, I might have called in - it took me a week or so to regain my energy and "bounce back" - I was totally drained. The procedure took about 75 min or so (per DH) - and RE removed endo and a cyst. hope this helps! mdbrum16 - which other RE's have you seen?? Just curious..... Everyone else - hello! let's be sure to post local resources or "words of wisdom" here!!! Anyone else doing AP (acupuncture)???? My 1st visit was last week, 2nd appt this AM.....BTW - I've got to get going! Have a great day!

Our first RE was Dr. Reuter at Midwest Fertility. Then we saw Dr. Donahue in Indy. Then we went to Dr. Silber in St. Louis for our IVF. Now we are seeing Dr. Jarrett and love him the nurses and staff.
