Hi, I am a 20 years old female and new to the boards. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a relatively short period of time now. I got pregnant when I was 17 (not from him) and went on birth control pills then after. I just wanted to know if being on bc pills for such a long time has any effect on your fertility. Your response is greatly appreciated!

Good moring, I have heard that BC pills are not supposed to affect your fertility. Have you gotten your period since getting off of the pill. One of the things that triggered me to find out more info was that I wasn't getting my period for three months after getting off the pill. So they did some tests and ultrasounds and found out that I had PCOS. If you are concerned I would definately ask your obgyn... you are never too young to ask!

yea i get my periods regularly. I think the problem might be my hubby since I already got pregnant once. He's going for a test soon, so we shall know. I just wanted to know if the pills had anything to do with it as well.

Have you tried the ovulation kits- to make sure you are ovulating. Just bc you get your period doesn't necessarily mean you are ovulating. You can buy these kits at pretty much any drug store.
