Anyone out there having problems with #2?
Are you wondering if something happen at the last birth to cause this delay in getting preggers?

Heck I developed hypothyroidism and had a 4th degree tear all from/since #1 so I questioned why it took so long for it to work. I am also 3 years older (I'm 37). I worried about my ovarian reserve, etc., but eventually we got pregnant!!!!! I'm not so sure we should push it and try for #3 or not.

Hi Liv
I would go for it....I have a friend 40 now who is having #2. If your fsh is good why not.
My first birth was really, really long and 2 weeks early..it was vaginal but I was thinking maybe things moved or shifted....when they do these IUIs on me they seem to have so many problems...it is not a straight shot from what they say. The last one took 30min and they needed to use a US. Iam glad to hear your IUI worked..some times you start to worry about all this money going out the door monthly with no results. It feels like burning money.

I often wonder this as well. Other than a mc, I had no problems conceiving my 1st ds. My cycles were always very regular before I had him. It does kind of make you wonder.

Kelly...I was thinking ...could endo develop because of labor? I have no signs with US but I hear you need to do a special test to see if you have endo and the re said why bother with it.

Did you have a long labor and delivery vaginal?

Hi Ann, I have thought the same exact things ever since we started to ttc #2. We tried for 3.5-4 years and finally got pg with #2. When I was pg with my first I had an easy pregnancy but did have preterm labor with him but it was stopped by meds and he ended up being a full term baby and only 10 days early than my edd. The labor with him was VERY long and drawn out. The delivery was even worse. The doctor on call (whom I have NEVER met) ended up delivering him. He was a complete jerk, didn't really talk to me or introduce himself. He was a tall burley man and put my bed so high up in the air to suit his needs. The nurses didn't really care for him either. I was on my 2 hour of pushing him when he told me that the baby was "sunny side up". That was the main reason I had such horrible back pain. After another 30 mintues of pushing he picked up the sissors and cut me!!! Thank goodness I had an epidural. Then he said that that didn't help and he grabbed the vaccum to pull him out. My mother-in-law and my mom were in the room towards the foot of the bed and the look on their faces scared me! He pulled my baby out with so much force. After it was all said and done, my baby cried the entire time we were in the hospital. They said that his blood sugar was low and to give him sugar water. The nurses were not helpful to me. He wouldn't feed right so the nursing was quite frustrating. The lactation consultants were not in that weekend...not sure why. I asked the nurses for help and asked why they thought my baby cried all the time and didn't really stop. They said, babies just do that and welcome to motherhood. I just cried. I clearly thought he was in pain after being yanked out. He had the biggest cone heard and it took a while for it to completely go down. The episiotomy took about 6 months to heal. I had to take steriods to strengthen the vaginal wall muscles. It was horrible!! I could kick that doc now!! And it makes me so mad when I think about it all. Now my ds has some effects from the position he was laying in while in the birth canal AND the way he was pulled out. He is fine and has above average skills...he is healthy but has some very minor neurlogical issues. I truly feel that along with the traumatic birth I had with him, something went wrong inside and caused me not to become pg for as long as it took. I have always had very normal periods and even after I had him. I did have a m/c a year before becoming pg again. So it is just strange and I still think about it! My second birth was the complete opposite!! Even though he was a month early, he was healthy. He did have to spend a few hours in the NICU for breathing but was released to me within 3 hours.
Now I at the point to where I wonder if we should try for #3. This has been a really hard discision for me for many reasons.

Good luck to you!!

baby talk

With my first he was 2 weeks early. the pushing was almost the full max time they would allow it...3-4 hours...they used heavy meds...it made my back kill for months later. His head was very cone shape for some time...the cord was around him and he looked a little blue when he came out...they gave him some ox but he was also jaundice. After birth it took a long time to control going pee ...(liked when I sneezed)....it was a year later almost until it felt stronger down there. Again Iam guessing this is the issue for infertility. Know we know why they dodn't allow video cameras in the HO any more.
