Hello Everyone
I’m sorry if my story is a little long. I conceived my first daughter fairly easily, had an uneventful pregnancy, and smooth delivery. She is now 8 and wonderful! After her I got pregnant but lost it almost immediately. We waited a while and started again. It took forever to get pregnant but we did only to have both end in m/c. First one was early on but the second was later on after we found out it was a girl. I started to feel so depressed. My doctor didn’t send me for tests or anything and said I was young & time was on my side. Finally in October of 2006 we found out we were pregnant again. Around 3 months we had a threatened m/c. After my history and now this I thought my ob/gyn would better monitor me but he didn‘t (he would even cancel my appointments on me with no notice). We decided switched to another dr. Fortunately once he heard about our history he sent me to a specialist to do test and sonograms and the specialist discovered I had an incompentent cervix and needed a cerclage. Then about 4 weeks after that I started pre-term labor and needed a turbutaline (sp?) pump and IV to stop the contractions along with an at home monitor and visiting nurse. 3 weeks before my due date I had a beautiful baby boy. Fortunately the delivery was pretty smooth (the ob/gyn had a bit of a problem removing the cerclage and my epidural didn't really take so I felt most of my labor). Anyway we gave ourselves the 6 month waiting period the doctor suggested and now we are TTC but I am so nervous about going thru this whole thing again! I don't know if I can handle months of trying only to suffer miscarriages. How do you prepare yourself for this??? I know the end result (a beautiful baby) is worth it but I worry about the heartache and disappointment. How do you gear yourself up for that?

Hi Jessica. I too have suffered several miscarriages & know haw devastating it can be to lose a baby. I was also never offered testing & never found out why I was miscarrying. At one point (after my 1st mc) I really did not think I could handle losing another baby. I then realized that my desire for a child was greater than my fear of losing another one. That's how I knew I was ready. I now how 2 beautiful boys . Best of luck to you. The support you will find here is amazing!!!!

Thank you so much! Your boys are adorbale!! I get some mean comments somtimes about how I already have 2 or how I just had a baby so I shouldn't want another one now, blah blah blah. It's nice to get a positive comment.

I have only had one m/c but there are times that it still upsets me. I get the comments because my sons disabilities. There always people out there that are judge you and find you lacking. Those people don't matter! You have two beautiful children and if you desire to add another child to your family to love all the in the world. We have 3 children and 3 dogs ended up with the last two because of the desire to add more love to the family LOL. Get comments all the time on that! I hope that now that they have found your problems things go smoother and easier from the start.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Thank you for your words of wisdom and advice. I recently decided that before I get pregnant again I am going to try to lose this extra weight I have from my last pregnancy. I'm borderline to a dangerous weight and with all the healthy problems in my family from everyone being overweight I think it's safer to do this now so I won't be putting myself or the baby at any risks by being unhealthy. Between what you and kcmour have said though I am very excited to start trying again and will deal with any bad as it comes.

Good Luck! I always have trouble losing. Ugg probably because I love food way to much. They are keep watch for gd this time because I had it with Jacob. Keep us updated on how everything is going
