Hi Ladies, sorry I haven't posted as much this week. I am preparing for a meeting that I am in charge of for next week and have been working pretty late.

Cherry, I am sorry that you are feeling sort of yucky right now. I understand what you are going through. It just takes so much energy and the ups and downs are difficult. With the time change here I have been feeling the same way. It gets dark so early, around 5pm and it makes me feel out of whack and tired.

Mrs. M, sorry that you are waiting so long for af, it is so frustrating. hang in there, she'll show...

I hope everyone else is well! All of our pregnant gals are giving me hope...Fox and Inna, I know you guys are so close!

We are getting closer too, starting estrogen in a couple of weeks and our cycle the beginning of December. Can you believe it is already November!

Hope everyone is doing great.

It's so great to see the list - I see HOPE! Congrats to everyone who has made it, and and to everyone attempting.

AFM, beta draw was this morning, so I'm waiting to hear. However, I did POAS this morning to prepare myself, and it was negative. My RE did say that because I respond very well to the meds, she would like to try another IUI using the same dosage.

How long did everyone here try IUI before moving on to IVF? I've only got enough savings for one IVF attempt, and my job is a bit iffy in the coming year, so I'm terrified of wiping out my life's savings. Thus far, insurance has covered enough of the IUI meds and process that I've been able to pay without dipping into the savings. I welcome everyone's advice!

and to all!

Phooey.

Just got the call and it's a BFN. Sticking with the same meds/IUI for this month. AF this weekend, with stims starting Monday or Tuesday...hopefully the third time is a charm!

Asiram, I was sorry to hear about your BFN. To answer your question about IUI, we didn't use it because we have male factor issues and needed to go straight to IVF with ICSI. Hopefully, some of the ladies who have gone through IUI and then onto IVF will be able to respond.

Tamar, It's great to hear from you and that you'll be starting in December. Let me know when your job brings you to Vegas again.

AFM, I saw the nurse this morning. They actually did an u/s instead of a blood test. She said my lining looked fine and as expected with the BCPs. I start Lupron today and my donor starts stims on Tuesday.

Hi Girls

Updated this! Asiram sorry about your BFN, I know even when you think it's easy, the few days after you realise it's hard. Sending you hugs and lots of baby dust. Third time lucky!

Thanks Tamar and everyone else for your well wishes. It is truly appreciated to be mentioned here.

I went in for baseline scan today and AF has not arrived. My lining is 18mm thick!! Wow thats a lot of lining! Anyhow have to wait on AF (which is as I thought), darn clinic insisted I come in. But I'm still injecting Suprefact daily and at least my ill symptoms have stopped. Thanks be. I'm cooking my mom a dinner tomorrow night so this is a biggie As it's the first time she's been in the new house. I'll have to cook something special or else bring loads of wine (for her) and get her drunk so she forgets about my cooking ;-)

Anyhow, Mak27 meant to say to you I live about 25 miles from Dublin city. But our roads are crap - so 25 miles can be over hour and a half driving into the city. We have no highways or motorways except one that goes around the city....:-), Dublin is pretty cool and it is an old viking city, so there's lots of roads that don't go anywhere and back streets from the viking days.

Well folks, tis Friday again. Yippee.......Bring it on and I'm just finished work....

Lots of Cherrygo

Hello Ladies!

Asiram - We did 2 IUI cycles before starting on IVF. The doc recommended doing only 2, as my eggies are old and he didn't want to waste valuable time, if the IUI wasn't going to be successful.

CherryGo - It was good to hear from you will do just fine cooking for your Mom. Don't pressure yourself too much. She's your Mom, she loves you!

AFM...not much. Looking forward to the weekend. Bunco tonight with the girls. DH is going to be working most of the evening, so it's nice to have something to do.

4th beta was 1729. Monday morning bw/us. We'll be able to see our little bean for the first time. RE said everything looks great.

Hello to ALL! Wishing everyone an enjoyable weekend!

Rose

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I haven't checked in in awhile. I've been organizing a bunch of craft shows and it's been taking up my computer time.

Asiram- I am a veteran of IUI's. I had 13 of them! I responded really well to the meds and always had 3-4 large follies as well as a bunch of smaller ones. My re was confounded as to why it did not work for me. But chalked it up to age and male factor.
When we finally lucked out and got an insurance that covered IVF we decided to give it a try. Well it worked on the first try. We did it with ICSI so it could have been that that's what we needed.

I think that if your insurance covers most of the IUI cost, it's worth it to give it a 3rd try. But dont dip into your IVF savings. That may be the magic bullet for you.

Cherry- You sure have a wicked lining! You must feel like your ready to burst!
And I'm glad to hear your feeling better.

Tamar- I hope you get your Christmas miracle.

JDW- It's really happening! You must be so excited!
And I loved the pirate pic! I'll have to post a pic of my werewolf and Darth Vader

You too Oneday! Your so close!

Lorrie- Sorry about the cancelled cycle. Those cysts truly suck.

Fox and Inna- You two must be in nesting mode now with your due dates looming.

Hello to everyone else! I hope your all doing well

AFM- I had an OB appointment today. Nothing really to report. But I have been soooo busy on the homefront. This is my busy season as I am in full craft show mode. I have a really big one that's a week long starting on Dec. 5th. It's a lot of work but it's worth it. It pays for Christmas for us. And with 4 kids and a bunch of neices and nephews it comes to a whole lot of shopping!
Well, gotta go and get back to my Santas workshop!

Thank you, everyone, for your kind thoughts and insight into the IUI vs. IVF conundrum.

I'm still torn. I am getting older (by the minute!) and I don't want to waste time with IUIs if IVF is the ticket, but it's just so scary the amount of money. Thus far with IUI and partial insurance coverage I haven't had to use any savings, but that is obviously NOT the case with IVF. I think it would be almost better if I didn't respond so well to the stims for IUI because like you, Gangof4, it seems like it should work.

Ah, if only we had a crystal ball...then I would know what I should do. I am going to do this IUI, as I want to be able to do something right away, and I know if I went IVF, there would certainly be a wait. I guess I also always had a minimum of three IUIs before considering moving on...not to mention I have pesky (very blessed!) cousins on each side of my family who have gotten PG naturally in their early 40s, so I was hoping some of that would be in my genes.

Cherry - wow - what a lining! I liked the detail on where you live...I've only been to Ireland once, but loved Dublin, and being able to get out into the countryside, too. So beautiful!

Rose - how exciting to finally see your little one on Monday!

Gang - what kinds of crafts do you do? I'm a crafty type myself, but mostly making stuff (crocheting blankets/clothing) and Christmas cards for myself.

A wonderful and blessed weekend to you all!

Asiram, I am so sorry about your results and hope your doing okay.

I know it's a hard decision between IUI and IVF. We did about three IUI's and then moved on to IVF. we always had alot of eggs. One thing we found out when we did our first IVF was that as you age the shell of your eggs gets a little harder. Our first IVF we did not do ICSI and our eggs didn't fertilize right away. they finally poured more sperm on and got some to fertilize but they weren't great quality. The next time when we did ICSI we had much better results. This is another good thing about going to IVF. Obviously money is a huge factor but if I could be 40 again I wouldn't have waited as long as we did.

Rose, whoo whoo on the great ultrasound.

JDW, you are sooo close!

Gang, how neat about your crafts. I would love to see some of your stuff!

negative is just cruel

Hi Dear Ladies!
I haven't posted here in ages, I'm so superstitious, so I told myself, that I will take the time to go thru my IVF without posting and just read...well, the results are back and it's ...I'm so devastated, even though I knew in my heart it wasn't happening this cycle and when things turned south thee past couple of days I was still holding out hope, but... ...I just feel so broken...and we just can't afford to go thru another cycle now...this pain is just too much...I'm sorry to vent and be a downer...
I wish everyone all the best!!!
Eli

Sorry for the BFN. It is disappointing, I know!
I was reading the info of those two IUI you did. My questions for the ladies that did IUIs, triggering at 15 and 16 mm it sounds to early to me. Can you get a second opinion from somewhere else?
Good luck with this coming cycle!

JDw, here you go! Good luck, good luck!
Rose, good luck on Monday!

Hi to you all ladies, have a nice Weekend!
