imagicat: I do feel like SOMETHING will work out. We have always believed there will be a child for us in the future, but we just dont know when.. Gods timing is always perfect... his word says.. for I know the plans I have for you.... and I just have to cling to that. Sometimes He lets us go through this rotten stuff to get it out of our systems so that when He does His glorious work, than we can glorify Him more and know that it was nothing we did, but all Him.
My husband and I have a blended family already... and I am blessed to have them adn we are all healthy and happy, so I will just stay focused on that. I am also going to spend this energy getting my insulin resistance under control and loose some weight. Who knows...maybe He will let it happen naturally when I least expect it. He got Sarah pregnant in the bible at 98....so I figure that 40, 41...42 is nothing!

Michelle, to this I say "AMEN!"

I don't like the "rotten stuff" in life any more than anyone else, and heaven knows I've had (probably) more of it than most people. Some really dismal, grim, Lifetime Television sort of rotten stuff. Years of it, years ago.

Then I started to realize something... It's only "rotten stuff" when I look at it that way. When I look at it in a more positive light, I see how God is giving me each opportunity to sharpen my mind, or my abilities, or to learn patience, or to become stronger, kinder, wiser. Each period of "rotten stuff" has been a growth period -- and every single time I can look back on it and see exactly how much good came from it.

The pain wasn't any less while traveling through it. But the "rotten stuff" allowed me to:

1. Divorce a crazy violent man. Hellish divorce, horrible, nightmarish, divorce that went on for years because he's mentally ill. But wow! I GOT OUT OF THE MARRIAGE!!!

1-a. Afterward I ended up meeting and falling in love with then marrying my perfect and wonderful and incredible husband, Matt. This could never have happened without having gone through the "rotten stuff" first.

2. Get away from living in a a dismal desert where I had been born and raised ...and end up in the gorgeous, green, glorious Smokey Mountains.

3. A long list, actually, of "rotten stuff" that ended up putting me in a better place, mentally, physically and emotionally. All good!

The best metaphor I can think of for the "rotten stuff"?

Labor pains. You have to go through 'em to get to the baby. Sometimes it's short, sometimes it's long, but it's always incredibly painful, usually frightening and uncertain... But if you hang in there, in the end there is that reward you never could have gotten any other way.

Right now I'm where you are, technically: I'm not pregnant yet, like so many of the others here, and there's never any guarantee that I will be. But I know there's a little person out there for my husband and me.

So I wait. And that's okay.

You and I can be friends here and wait together, okay?

I just turned 40 on March 22nd.

My husband and I are just beginning this journey starting next week with blood work and I have a test that will be checking my fallopian tubes to see if they work correctly. We have done the majority of tests necessary however there are a few odd ones that are left so it should only be another week or two and we will know what route is going to be the best for us to start working with.

I look forward to chatting with everyone here.

Happy belated birthday, SueBear, and to being "officially" on the 40+ board. (Though there are a number of people under 40 here, I think)

How long have you been TTC?

How long have you been TTC?

Well, it's been one of those issues my husband and I have been together for 10 yrs. During that time, I have not used BC. We aren't sure what is happening. There has been a few questions raised if it is my eggs or his situation since he is Diabetic.

I always had the thought that if we got pregnant it was a gift of God but as time had gone on the more I thought it became apparent something else was happening which brought us to where we are now. It's just taking time.

The most frustrating is the waiting I think as I have no patience. ha ha ha! It's hard enough for me to deal with every day as a full time accelerate graduate student just trying to deal with my routine and now this. Sometimes I'm ready to pull my hair out. My husband made an interesting observation the other day as we were leaving the doctor's office.

He had seen the notice on the SA date and it stated, "remain abstinent no less than 2 days and no more than 5 days prior". His sarcastic remark was, why is it we are trying to have a child and it seems there is the little things that are trying to prevent it? I actually got his giggle because I understood what he was saying. We are trying to have children and the doctor's won't let us have any fun in the process. ha ha ha! Oh well, I at least got a little chuckle out of it. I suppose you had to see the grin on his face when he said it.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Michelle, I am sorry to hear your news and hope that your follow up with the RE goes well. Marilyn, I am so happy for you, can't wait to hear more good stuff. Mindi, I have my fingers and crossed for you...the wait is hard. Lia, Your time will come...at has too

I have been traveling alot and it has been hard to check in....but here is an update:

we are supposed to stop BCP next week and are going in for our first IUI on the 25th. We ended up switching RE's and I really like her, she's warm and upbeat. It looks like we'll be starting injectibles on the 26th.. I'm really excited and hopeful.

Could not wait to POAS!

I know I said I would until Monday but not knowing was getting to my nerves! I woke up and my AF cramps returned. I thought for sure the witch was coming! I already had a HPT here so I took it and got a faint line. I could not believe what I was seeing! Then I went to buy the digital display test that will reads not pregnant or pregnant, well it read PREGNANT! I'm so excited but now nervous about the beta tomorrow. There seems to always be something to worry about! Thank you all for all your support and positive vibes! I really do appreciate it!

Yeah Marissa! Finally, one of us "mature" gals have a BFP. I am surprised you POAS on your day 9dpivf. I am 9dpiui and I am nervous to do it until the full 2ww are up. I just don't want to see a negitive and would rather just have af come.

Do you have any symptons you can share with me? So far I have extremely sore and full bbs. I've been dizzy for over a week now, which may be related to the prometrium. My tummy is still quite bloated and gassy at times. I woke up with horrible back pain, but now it's better and that is about it....I would love to hear how you are feeling.

SueBear! Let us know what your numbers are from your b/w and the HSG test will be uncomfortable, but it's quick. Take 2 advil or aleve before you take it.

Tamar, Yippie for your IUI in 4 days! I know it will be a good one.

Kay, I'm glad that the queazies have stopped. I'm sure I will inherit it from you shortly. Can't wait to hear what you OB says.

Lia, Michelle, Keep up your positive attitude. We are here for you and can't wait to hear that it's your time for IVF!
