Just when my body was getting back to normal. I don't look forward to all that bloating again, but it is what it is. I know it's only temporary and I now know what to expect.

Hi guys, just wanted to give you an update. We went in for our first IUI getting ready for IVF and had 18 Antral Follies so hopefully this is a good amount to start with. I've been doing injectibles, Follistim and repronex..We are doing a bit of a different protocol because of my age. I won't be taking Lupron. Tommorow we go in for our IUI to see how the eggies are doing! I am trying to relax and stay positive.

Tamar - I'm excited for you. Do you know when the ET will be? 18 antral follies is great. I remember when I went for my first ivf I did not have any. I still ended up with 4-5 eggs.
I hope you produce alot of eggies! Let me know how it goes.

Tamar, It sounds like you are only moments away from conceiving. I will keep my that those eggies continue to grow and that you will have many for ER .
I'm not sure what you mean by going in for an IUI though. Why would you be doing an insemination if you are going to be doing IVF. Do you mean you went in for an u/s (ultrasound)?

Hey there, all. I know I've only popped in intermittently to this thread recently, but add me on to Mindi's list. We're still in nervous 1st trimester, but, although I've been the spotting queen this month, the ultrasounds keep coming back normal. So we're hopeful.

Tamar - 18 follicles sounds AWESOME. I'm really excited for you. Like Mindi, I also got confused with you saying you went in for an IUI today and had 18 follicles (if you inseminated with 18 follicles, we could be on-line with a future Oprah guest having octuplets!). You did mean ultrasound (u/s), right? Anyway, your count is fantastic. When are you supposed to be doing the retreival?

Hi all. Mindi - Thanks for adding me. I've been feeling ok. I've been pretty nauseous and have to eat constantly not to feel awful. I definitely am not going to be one of those women who lose weight in their first trimester. I'm also pretty puffy from 2 months of estrogen shots. If my co-workers don't suspect something's going on, then they're pretty oblivious. I mentioned in my last post that I've been the spotting queen. And it's true. At 6 weeks I started bleeding and thought I'd lost the pregnancy, and I've been spotting ever since. So far it seems not to be affecting the pregnancy. But we've got another u/s tomorrow to confirm that. It couldn't come soon enough.

You asked about whether we'll find out the gender. We're not sure yet. But we've got a long time until they can tell - I think it's something like 18 weeks.

Tamar - Acupuncture - I can't recommend it more highly. I've been going to acupuncture since last spring, and although I'm not sure it helped me get pregnant, it has certainly kept me more comfortable and sane than I otherwise would have been. It was really helpful when I had surgery last summer, and there's a protocol that's recommended for IVF before and after the transfer. Do you have anyone you can seek out for this cycle? Our clinic actually has acupuncturists on staff, which was great. But last cycle I went to my own and it was really nice.

Hi Mindi: Thanks for making the list! I do want to make a little correction to mine. I have not had my Beta yet. May 5 is my first Beta. As of today, I am 4w4d prego! I cannot even believe it, but the tests say that I am. I am just hoping for a good Beta. I will let you know how the Beta goes on Monday.

Wow, it's so great to see all the bfps!

I'm doing okay. We have not decided what we are going to do next. We're going to the RE in a couple of weeks to get the chromosomal results on the pg among other things. I also have a post-op appt on Monday.
