Marilynn - It's great to see you here. I've been thinking about you. It makes sense that you and DH aren't ready to decide on next steps. I'm always trying to figure out next steps before previous ones have concluded themselves, and it's not helpful. It's good that you've got follow-up appointments, and when the time comes to know what's next, you'll know it.

Janet - You are SO patient, m'dear. You're going to come home with a massive beta on Monday.

I have been pretty open with my friends and some family but secretive at work..I keep wondering how people are going to react if we get preggers.

Hi Bethany - Yes can you believe it, I will be 6 weeks on Monday. I go for my 1st u/s on Wednesday. This 2ww is worse than the first one. I have only had 2 betas and have been left wondering if everything is ok. Talk about anxiety!
I'm happy your u/s went well and your little one waived at you too! How exciting is that!

Hi guys, just and update: We had our e/r today and they got 12 eggs....We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will be good! We should have our first update on Saturday. I am pretty sore but feel happy and relieved...

I was wondering for all of you that have done e/r when did you hear back regarding the maturity and quality of your eggs? we were told we would hear back on Saturday morning. It seems that some ladies know right away. My husband was told that they retrieved 12 eggs. Does this mean they are mature?

Currently, I am waiting to O. Since I couldn't do a medicated cycle this monthy due to cysts from the last medicated cycle, I am having a natural IUI. Hopefully, I'll have a nice size follie that was able to grow nicely all on it's own. LOL.....I still might end up missing this cycle due to the fact that my donor's sperm isn't available until May 22, and I am supposed to O around the 12th. I'm bummed, but it is was it is. It feels weird sitting here doing nothing when for the past 3 months I was doing tests, u/s and then meds. Oh well, I'm keeping my chin up and trusting that my eggs will continue to stay healthy.

Tamar - Congratulations on your egg retrieval. 12 eggs is fantastic! In terms of when you get reports, it seems to vary. They don't like to check on the eggs or embryos too often since they're happier in the dark. The most information I hear from folks is getting info on the day of retreival how many eggs are mature, the next day how many fertilized, day 3 how they are developing and whether to come in for a day 3 or day 5 transfer, and then not until day 5. It sounds like they let your eggs fertilize and develop a bit before they check, but I think that's good, since often the count on day 1 isn't complete - a few more may fertilize between then and day 3.

12 is a fantastic number regardless. I'm very excited for you and excited to hear how things are going Saturday.

Mindi - Sorry you're caught in the timing craziness. But it sounds like you've got a good attitude about it. So much waiting is involved with this process - you'd think we'd get more patient. Alas, it doesn't work that way.

Mindi -- it's always the wait that'll get you. You just need to trust that somewhere out there, a greater hand is controlling the timing with precision you cannot see. There is always a reason for the delay. Always.
