Tamar - The only symptom I had before my BFP was some cramping. Not a lot though. My boobs were sore, but that was clearly from the progesterone shots I was doing. I had no implantation bleeding at all - not a spot. But some of the women on the threads that have have had it later - not exactly when the implantation happened. You're doing fine - we can't help but analyze every symptom or lack thereof. You're past the 1/2 way point on this 2 week wait journey, yes? I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!

Tamar, be encouraged and of good cheer! You won't always have implantation cramping. Your body will react differently each and every time.

I'm very excited and hopeful for you through this wait. I'm also going to sit down today and say a special extra prayer.

Your baby time is coming soon, I just know it is.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I know this is so hard! We are supposed to go in on the 25th for our beta but I was able to get it moved up to the 23rd so we can take a little road trip along the California Coast up to Oregon. One thing I have noticed that is that my re doesn't have me go in for many blood tests.....They seem very minimal.

I am debating whether I should POAS...and when? what do you guys think?

I have been thinking more and more about egg donation..especially if this doesn't work. I am wondering how you ladies who have been through it feel..what about your partners? I just feel like I am getting older and older and I just want to be a mommy! Anyway, thanks you guys for listening...

Tamar,
The symptom thing during 2ww can certainly mess with the mind. From reading these boards, it seems there are several women who are pg who did not have any early symptoms.

I have no advice about whether or not to do an early POAS because I am an admitted addict when in the 2ww.

Best best wishes. I'll be thinking of you.

RE: me and future plans. We're just chilling out for now. I'm still smarting from the whole d&c being pregnant then not thing. I am still bleeding from operation and still have hcg in my system if you can believe that. My re said we could try in June if we want. We'll see... maybe.

Hey Tamar. How cool that you got to move up your Beta - and nice that you have a trip planned for right afterwards. My RE's office was minimal on the testing (the only reason I was tested for progesterone levels at all was because I asked to be). There's really no reason to overtest - unless something's funky or you're a real needle addict. I have to say, I'm glad the rest of us get to find out about your BFP 2 days earlier too.

Re: POAS, I'm not a fan. Actually, I did it after I had my blood drawn for my beta - so that my news was delivered by my DP in the comfort of my own home rather than on the phone by a nurse. I've had so many confusing/distressing POAS experiences over the years, I decided not to test early. Though, I must admit, it's been fun learning of others' BFPs early when they happen.

You asked about using an egg donor, and I feel like there's a lot to share about that. First off, I hope this becomes a moot point. But in the most general sense, I am really happy with our decision to use an egg donor. I only went through 1 IVF with my own eggs (and had a decent bunch of eggs for a 39 year old), but that pregnancy ended up being ectopic. And that was after almost 2 years of trying including 2 miscarriages. I just needed something more certain. That said, we were hoping that using donor eggs would be really certain, and in our experience it wasn't all that. Even though our 24 year-old donor produced 23 eggs, only 2 made it to transfer and only 1 has developed. I am not meaning to sound bratty here, because we're really beyond thankful that our 1 is doing well. But we were hoping that chosing to do DE would mean we'd have 1 now and a slew of frosties to try for a second. It didn't work out that way for us. Which just reminded us that there is really no certainty in any of this. Just a reality check.

As for my DP, she was ready for DE before I was. In fact, before our IVF, she said, "I think your eggs are worth one shot, but maybe not 2." She said it in the most loving way, actually - she meant that she really wants to get to the parenting part and she was having a hard time with all of our troubles til then. Anyway, she glows when she talks about our 24 year old eggs.

OK, that was more than I meant to write - but I'd encourage you to check out the IVF with Donor Eggs threads. Lots of women have checked the thread out with questions about making that decision - and people have been really generous about sharing their stories.

All that said, I've still got my fingers and toes crossed that the 23rd will make any of this thought moot for you! B

Tamar: I am counting the days with you! Unlike others, I am a huge fan of POAS! But that is because prior to last month, I had never had a positive HPT in my life, so I figured if it was positive, it was for real! Each person has to determine it in her own mind.

Thanks for the support you guys...I think I will hold out until Friday....I really think I know the answer. I don't feel pregnant. Regardless, we will move forward. Beth thanks for the thoughts about egg donation. I have been thinking about it quite a bit, especially if this one doesn't work. I just want to BE pregnant and have a baby. I started thinking about how old I will be when my child is 20,30,40.....I don't mean to be a downer it just seems like I have wanted this for so long.

HI Guys, well we got the news today and it wasn't good. The beta came back negative....I am pretty bummed but really, I knew. We are having a follow up with the re and really want to give it a least one more go with my own eggs. I know it is such a long shot with my nearly 43 year old eggs but we still want to try..From there we will see...Thanks so much for all of your support.
