(((((Tamar))))) <----- big tight hug

I'm sorry you didn't get your BFP today. You keep going in whatever direction you need to go, (i.e., with your own eggs). Your heart has to be in it, and it has to sit right with YOU.

But if you ever get curious... come over and read our threads on the Infertility Treatements/Donor eggs & Sperm section. It's pretty encouraging!

(((extra hugs))) Share that one with your hubby too.

Tamar - I'm so sorry for the news. You need to do what you think is right for both of you. I also had to try a few times with my own eggs before moving on. Unfortunately it did not work for me but there are plenty of women our age that do get pregnant. I hope it all works out for you. Best wishes.

Yes, Tamar... You WILL have a baby. Absolutely! Remember that at all times.

I hope you and hubby are enjoying some time together this weekend. The Oregon coastline is a gorgeous place to spend time.

Hello ladies,

I just wanted to stop and say hello to you all. I'm so happy for those of you who have BFP, and I share all the sadness of everyone who gets BFN. I haven't had a transfer yet, but I've gone thru 2 cycles, currently on day 7 of my stims in cycle 3. Out of our last two retrievals, we currently have one frozen at 2 pm stage. I wanted to do a third retreival before we thaw and transfer, with hopes of making our chances higher.

I have learned so much over the past 7 months going going thru all of this.

At first I was not open minded about DE.... now, if my own eggs are just too old, I know that it doesn't matter anymore. I just needed to try with my own also. Being a mom is the goal. I am fine with DE and DS if we need to go that route, although after draining our finances for 3 IVF cycles, theres none left over for DE! Hope God blesses me with either a BFP with my own eggs, or with a windfall to proceed with DE, if all fails

Hugs

Janet

Hi Janet - I know how it feels to keep getting that BFN. I had to try several times with my own eggs as well before moving on to DE. I'm very happy I did though, I'm now 9 weeks pregnant. I hope it works for you this cycle. There are women our age that are able to use their own eggs. Good luck!

Hi guys, we're back from our trip and had a great time. It was nice to get my mind off all of the babymaking stuff. Before we left, I brought up the subject of donor eggs with my husband. One of my biggest fears was that our baby woulddn't feel as connected to me because I wouldn't be the bioligical mother. My husband was adopted by his dad: his mom had him when she was very young and he never knew who his biological father was. I asked him how he felt about his dad and he answered...he is my dad, the only dad that I have known and the only dad I want to know. His mother has even asked him if he wanted to know who his Bioligical dad was and he does not. He really has no desire to know as he just thinks of him as a sperm donor. This really set my mind at ease...Your mother is the woman that nutures you and loves you and raises you. We may still try one more round of IVF with my own eggs, but I think I know now what our next step would be.

Janet, it sounds like we are in almost exactly the same place...Marisa it's good hearing from you what you went through. Lia, Mindi, FinalFrontier and Beth, thank you guys so much for your warm words.

I'm glad to hear your hubby is fine with DE if it ever comes down to it.

I thought I wouldn't even consider it, but I have learned so much about myself during this IVF journey.

I'm on my 7th day of injections right now, due for ER on Friday right now. I'm praying things are better for me this time. both cycles only 5 and 6 folllies grew, with only 2 and 3 eggs retrieved. I guess that puts me in a low responder protocol along with age related issues. Bummer, but for now, I'm still staying positive that my one good egg is on its way.

hugs

J, I hope that this one goes well! How was your egg quality the last couple of times? We just have to remember that it only takes a couple of good eggs. We had 13 eggs retrieved with only 10 mature and only 6 fertilized..The embryologists said that if we do it again he would do ICSI.

I try to stay optimistic, but I think the reality is that my eggs might be all that great. I;m hoping theres at least some chance for me.

First time, we got 2 eggs from 5 follicles, (i don't know where the other three went) and 1 fertilized, and they froze it at 2 days (my scehdule was to bank embyros) it;s still frozen.

second cycle, 6 follicles but 3 eggs,,,, (again, where did the other three go? anyway... NONE ferilized and I was absolutely devastated. I was asked if I wanted to thaw our 1 frozen embie and transfer, but I just couldn't face one minute more of heartache at that point, I couldn't think straight, so I did nothing.

Decided to try one more time, to "bank" embies, so here I am again. after 2 months of cysts and cancelled cycles. !!!

right now I'm on day 9 of stims, I have 2 follies on the left at around 17, with 3 antrals, and 2 on the right at 8 and 10, with 3 antrals... my e2 was 424 today.

Im sceduled for trigger tomorrow eve and ER on Friday.

the other two cycles i stimmed 12 days, and I think this time he's not letting me go out that long because it risks compromising egg quality, i guess. So I'm hoping for even a few more to transfer and all I need is one to be it!

I know you know my feelings.

I get so frustrated that I don't respond better.

Hugs

Janet
