Thanks Terri! The nurses at the clinic have been really great. We have worked it out with my re. They are having me start on ganirelex to try to slow things down a little. She says this should help me avoid Monday. I am feeling much better about things. I am a little freaked out that I have to give myself three shots on Saturday and Sunday. Have any of you guys done this yourself. The last cycle I had to give myself the HCG shot in the leg. It was horrifying! That needle was so Fricken long!!!

Barbara, I think it would be so neat to have twins too. It is such a great relationship. I don't now what I'd do without my sister.

Taka, I hope your cycle is going well!
Mine has been just cancelled. I have started stiming on Aug 28 , on day 6 I had only 2 growing @ 0.6 and 0.8 cm and on day 8 one was smaller! Have any of you heard of size going backwards? I have not! So, the Micro flare protocol is not for me, looks like. And I don't think that I should have started this cycle eider, there was still a smaller cyst and later I have learned that E level on day 2 was at 140!
that was after one clomid cycle 36 days long, BCP cycle 16 days long, and than surprise... an other 16 days cycle. I had a regular period before starting this summer.. , not anymore
Anyways, Monday, the 8th. I go back in and start taking Estrace for better priming.

Hi Ladies, Inna I am sorry that your cycle was cancelled, how frustrating. I hope you can start up again next month. Just an update, we are going in for our retreival tommorow. We have at least 10 eggs ready and possibly a couple of more...I am praying things go smoother this time. We are doing ICSI and assisted hatching. I don't know if you remember but last time the eggs didn't fertilize right away. Hope everyone else is doing well and moving forward on their cycles. Thanks everyone for being so supportive

Gang of 4, have you thought about IVF? You seem to be in the same place I was at 40. I wish I had moved faster. We didn's see a fertility doc until I was 41.

Inna I'm also sorry to hear about your canclled cycle. I know it stinks. I had one in july.

Taka, I am considering ivf. I had also looked into donor eggs but that is way out of our price range. I'm Actually going to call my re's office to day to talk to the ivf coordinator about price and how much my insurance will cover.
I had an iui this morning and I had stimulated really well. I have at least 5 mature follies.
And several others that are close to the same size as the mature ones. In all I have about 17 follicles. Seems good right? Well, DH's motility was poor and his count so so. It seems that his motility has always been not so great even if his numbers can be good. If this doesnt pan out, we'll maybe head towards the ivf route.

We were really hoping iui's would work for us. The money we would need to borrow for ivf is a bit worrisome for us. What if it doesnt work the first time?
I dont know if we could financially handle another cycle. I'm sure everyone worries about the same things. How do you get through it? I really have to make sure our next step is the right one because it may be our last.
I wish I had a crystal ball that could tell me which path to chose. Any one have one of those laying around?

gangof4, It's very hard to thing about all this medical bills, I am bless because my insurance pay for everything (treatment/test/medications). It will be diferent for me without the insurance. I really believe we can't afford an IVF.

I had my second iui today and this time DH's motility was much improved. It was at 50% before the wash. Who'd a thunk that the second day would reap better results. Usually it's the opposite. Now I'm in that dreaded 2ww.

I talked to the ivf coordinator yesterday and found out that my insurance covers absolutely nothing for ivf. Is'nt that strange that it will cover all of my ultra sounds and blood tests for iui. But not a single thing for ivf? I just assumed that it would. But at least I'll have my meds covered. That is, if we go the ivf route. I gotta keep hopeful that this iui took.
Am I like the only 40+ girl doing iuis? I think I am.

Hi gals, the egg retreival seemed to go well and I am just resting now.

Gang of four, I am glad that your IUI did well today. That sucks that your insurance doesn't cover IVF. Ours does but our re is out of network so we are haveing a constant battle getting reembursed. We are still waiting on over 6,000 dollars from the last 7 months....arghhh I hate unsurance companies!

Hi Ladies, we got an update from our re today on our embies. The ICSI worked and 9 out of 10 fertilized. Of those 7 are looking good and she wants to move up from a 3 day to a 5 day. This is a positive step for us because of the fertlization issues we had last time. We feel like this is another hurdle that we crossed......
