Hi all. Just checking in. It's so nice to see so many of us here.

Taka - I wanted to add in another good word for acupuncture. I adore my acupuncturist, and she seems to have had several women in their 40s getting pregnant since I've been going to her. (in fact, I feel like I'm her one failing patient). It's great for the blood circulation - but also helps the liver deal with any of the toxic side effects of the meds many of us are doing. Finally, and most importantly, it is tremendously relaxing and is a great way to bring calmness to the middle of this storm. Before I had surgery last summer, she gave me a "leave in needle" - it was like a little tack that she put in my ear, and it really seemed to keep me calm. (I've since learned that's also a common spot to help people quit smoking - go figure!). I considered having her do that again when I was headed to my IVF in the fall. But then I wasn't as nervous as I thought I'd be.

Tamar - I know a couple of women our age who have had success doing medicated IUIs instead of IVF. A close friend of mine did IVF in the fall and ended up feeling like she should have just done the IUI.

Hi friends- I got good news at apt. today. My lining is great 9.5 and RE told me to expect betwee 15 and 20 eggs from our donor. She will have her retreval on Tue and the transfer should be on the 24th of Feb. This is getting so real. I almost hate to get my hopes up this high. I don't know if I can take much more disapointment. This is looking good though. for us!!

I'm thinkin of POAS (more so to get it thru my thick skull that I'm not pregnant...) I'm on like CD7, but I went to bed at 8;10 last night, and I have a funny feeling on the right side... It's all in my head I'm sure... "If wishes were horses..."

Hope everyone is well. It's certainly more exciting when you are having drug assisted or DE cycle or whatever, these a la natural cycles are a little too uneventful. There is more hope when you are assisted in some way shape or form...

Hi ladies, I've posted this on another thread but I just want to share with you how things are going with me. I had my 4th u/s this morning and they saw total of 16 follies with 14 mature ones. DH was with me and he saw all of them. Am so thankful to my ovies, I was aiming for 13 but they have exceeded my expectations so far. We hope and pray they retrieve eggs from all of them. I am triggering tonight at 9:30 pm (PST) then ER would be on Monday 8:30 am.

My RE asked me what I'm doing differently this time as she was so surprised at my response to to meds this time. She even said it's my best cycle ever (being a slow responder with my previous ones) i told her I've been doing acupuncture for almost 5 months now. I believe it's really worth it and it's paying off. I'm also listening to the IVF meditation cds. It's been a great help to me too.

Please pray that this would be our turn.

Faith- This is great news!! 14 is a great number! Way to go ovaries I this is your month. We are very close in our cycle. I am so excited to be due date buddies very soon. Keep us posted.

Faith, I have my fingers crossed with your follicles. I am really interested in the acupuncture idea, sounds like it has been working for you!

Beth, I also appreciate what you said about the acupuncture and doing the injectibles. We are going to try them at least one more time and in the meantime set up an IVF appointment.

Ladies, I just finished reading a good book that my girlfriend, also our age recommended. It's called Inconceivable and it's about a 42 women who is going through infertility. She shares her story about going through infertility challenges. Her FSH was 42 and she as able to lower it through lifestyle changes and finally at 43 gets pregnant..on her own. I know that some of us may have issues that she didn't have but it is a really great book. Hope you all are having a great Presidents weekend....I have Monday off WHHEEE

Hi Kay, I'm good. I was really busy this week and didn't have a chance to log in..We are on a required break this month because of the cysts...but it's okay. I am really trying to not live as though my biological clock is ticking at all times...if you know what I mean

Tamar- I do know what you mean. Are they doing anything to help get rid of the cysts? Did they put you on BCP? that those nasty things go away and you can get back to the baby making business. Hang in there.

Yes, I am back on THE PILL for the first time since I was about 21....I always hated those things! Seems pretty ironic but I am guessing that they help to keep you from produciing the hormones that grow follicles....

When you took them did it just take a month for the cysts to go away?

Yes. After one month the cystss were gone. It was strange for me too to be on BCP. I hadn't used them since my early twenties as well. I hope you have success after just one month.
