Taka, my insurance starts back at $0, but I've reached the lifetime maximum for IVF. I have benefits through my husband's insurance for "diagnosis and treatment", but that doesn't include the actual fertility procedures. I will be looking over other options with both of our jobs to see if there is anything better available.

My RE wants me to have 2 cycles before we try again. What about you?

Nubian, we will probably be on the same cycle. We were told the same thing...about two months. We have to wait until I have a period and then they'll put me back on birth control pills for about three weeks...

I will probably be not far behind the two of you. This one has clearly stopped evolving, the second beta went from 38 to 41 in 3 days. I have no idea how long it will take to get back to 0.

Hi ladies..I think I have talked to some of you in other posts..anyways, I am out this month too. Should start up my next cycle end of November....

Wishing you all the best...I am sure the waiting is killing you..I feel like I am losing an entire month and it bothers me because I am running out of eggs...it is almost like I think I am going to completely run out before I get the BFP. My DH doesn't get it.

So, my beta went down to 8 today. I will have my next appointment next week and lets see what my RE has to say, but I know she won't have much on her sleeve.
I am so afraid of the next IVF.

Hi everyone,

I'm needing some serious support!

I went in for one natural IUI and nothing, then just a few weeks ago, on Nov., 25, had another IUI but this time I did injectables. However, I'm 10 DPO and just started AF. This was unusual since I wasn't supposed to start until the 8th or so.
I'm 39 and will be 40 in a few weeks. I have made an appt at an IVF clinic, here in Los Angeles, who is currently doing a study on women in the 38-42 age braceket with FSH levels of 10-12 to which I qualify at an 11.
I didn't think a FSH of 11 was so horrible but my ER made it sound like doomsday, and hence my mood has been erratic at best during the ttw, which is no more for me.
Would any of you suggest I try for one more IUI or should I go straight for the IVF? I have insurance but it does not cover one cent of any infertility treatments, so all of this is out of pocket. I'm not made of money so the IUI is more affordable. I thought this clinic would be a better choice, if I still qualify, as it's 25 % off all meds and 1,000.00 off the IVF procedure. Any suggestions?

Hi KCG, I think that you should try at least one more cycle of IUI...Especially since you have to pay out of your own pocket. If you don't mind me asking how many antral follicles did you have on day 3? our re recommended that we try 3 before moving to IVF and I am quite a bit older than you. Which clinic in LA are you going to? I am originally from there

Good luck to you KCG! If you can do both, have one more IUI with injectables and get the approval for the trial and hoing you won't need to go for it.

KCG: I am torn. I think IVF will work best for you, but since it is only one more month you might try the IUI one more time before the IVF. If I could find a study here in DFW I would be all over it. I pay OOP myself for everything except diagnostics.

Inna: where are you now in your cycle? Don't be afraid, you are so lucky you can do IVF. I would love to do IVF, we just cannot afford it right now. Your chances are much greater you know.

Who knows the info about Argentina? Maybe that would be an option for me.

Here is a funny story, not so funny, but you try to find humor in this crazy IF world. My husband and I were in Chile when we found out the baby had no heartbeat in 06. So, I had to have my D & C in Santiago and I knew NO SPANISH whatsoever. The hospital staff knew no English whatsoever!! Talk about being in a twilight zone!!!

Hi Renni, I went in at the begingig of December to get a second day U/S and see if I should begin Bcps. I had only one folicule and one big cyst, so we will see how the next cycle looks if it doesn't start before the office opens on the 5th of Jan. I know I am lucky to have one more shot at Ivf and I hope it is also the other lucky one. Lets hope you can find the way to get your chances as well.
