Faith, I'm just now starting to catch up with how the board works, and I think the "Over 40" club is definitely my home. Having said that, I just realized you just did you ET... (phone home)

Congratulations! I'm very excited for you!!!

Why did you doctor decide to transfer 4? Mine has said that when the time comes the maximum will be 2. I think quadruplets would be really fantastic, personally.

for you!

The clinic where I go o reommends transferring four to those whose ages are bet 37 -39 yrs. they recommend 5 for those who are 40 and over. we were supposed to only have 3 transferred, but 1 of the other embryos under observation made it to an 8 cell embie. our RE then recommended transferring all 4 of them DH and I agreed to it.

Oh wait, these are your own eggs, right? Okay, that's a little different.

What are you allowed to do during the 2ww? Mild activity? Full activity?

You know, it's such an amazing thing...

When I talk to the ladies on this board, those who are newly pregnant, those who are about to become pregnant, those who are in the waiting period, suddenly I am struck by the delicate nature of it all. This fierce, intense, encompassing and utterly fragile miracle of pregnancy.

We all come from a society that at some point said "It's perfectly healthy to jog 47 miles a day and then go off and captain a Fortune 500 company the whole 9 months!". In the early 1980's, I recall it becoming a trend to give birth to the baby, then get up and walk out of the delivery room and definitely go home from the hospital in 24 hours. We get pregnant, and we're supposed to get up and soldier through morning sickness and everything else that I believe God intended to slow us down for the first few months as though nothing has changed at all.

And then I read something like where you, Faith, have done your ET. And the words going through my mind are

Stay still!

Lay down!

Be calm and for a couple of weeks at least, treat your body as though a miracle is occurring! (Because it is)

Maybe all this modern day infertlity is precisely because we've forgotten that (here is comes) we are the "weaker" (i.e., more delicate and finely made) vessels.

I'm excited for you.

Now go. I command you to tell your husband to strew rose petals all over the room, light candles, turn on soft music, and forbid anyone but the wellest of wishers to enter into your presence.

This is how we allow miracles to occur.

Prayers for you!

Thanks for putting your concern and putting a smilen my face and yes, am using my own eggs. hopefully this will be our miracle happening soon. I believe, it has already started since we starte stimming, for one, i had a very good response to the neds, second, we had 4 transferred today which was our prayer too. am just waiting for answered prayer no 3 which is a .

It's hard to stay still though. my RE just recommends a quiet day or 2. but am giving myself lots of bed res and sitting down. Dh actually set up the areo bed in our family room, which means no climbing up and down the stairs for me.. Thank God for laptops, at leas I could still get myself busy and entertained.

i'll have DH read your commandments he better comply or else

Good evenin' all. So much happening every day.

Faith - You take care of yourself the next 2 weeks - you've got your little foursome to look out for!
Chie, and congrats on your pregnancy. I'm excited to hear about your u/s next week.

Kay - I'm thinking of your brood there in the lab just waiting to get back to you.

I've had one of those it's-never-going-to-happen-for-me days. But I get here to the board and am reminded it's possible, it's possible, it's possible. Gnite all. B

bd, for what it's worth, I think that egg donors may be the answer to the prayers for many of us. So your turn is coming.

Faith,
Actually right after the ET I got a terrible cold that lasted 1 week: non stop cough, runny nose and generalized body aches and had to miss work a few days. Luckly no fever but raised to up to 98.5* so I took some tylenol. And as I did not want to take anything else I took lots of strong lemon tea with honey. I was very frustrated and worried as I took all the precautions to not to get a cold but luckly, it all went well.
I will keep my for a .
I will let you know about the US next week. Hopefully I can see a HB. Please keep your .
Take care.

Kay, Wow! 17 embies! That's great news. I'm for and to those 4 growing embies in your belly.

Chie,
and great news for you too. It's nice to see us fabulous 40 something yr. olds having positive results with getting preggers.

I had an u/s since I am on my 2nd day of my period to check how my ovaries were doing and to give blood for my estrogen and FSH test. My RE found a 35mm cyst on my right ovary. I have been getting them on that ovary (when no on bc) pretty much since I was 20. I will no later today if I have to get on bc for a couple of weeks to dissolve it before I can start my meds. As anxious as I am to my meds and get this baby inside of me, I want to make sure I am totally healthy first.

Anyone of you ladies had this experience with cysts while ttc?

I'll update here as soon as my blood test results come in later today.

Mindi

I always take BCPs for at least 17 days before starting with meds. with my first IVF, they found a polyp in the middle of stimming, i didnt get the exact size but they were montiroing it for a while. It didnt continue to grow but my cycle was conveted to IUI. after my BFN they did a hysteroscopy to take out the cysts.

Hope your cyst goes away for good so you could start the ball rolling. Good luck!
