IVF CANADA's anonymous egg donor program has been going along very well. While we are aware that pending legislation may bring change, we are proceeding with our program until that legislation is resolved. We have achieved pregnancies in both the egg donors and the egg recipients and many of the participating couples also end up with extra embryos for freezing.
To be considered for our anonymous ova donor program, the donor must be 35 years of age or younger and have preferably completed at least one previous IVF trial that produced mature ova.
The basic formula for ova donation is as follows: the donor agrees to donate half of her ova to the recipient in exchange for the recipient bearing all or a portion of the donors' costs at IVF CANADA. The ova shall be divided equally.
This arrangement benefits both couples involved -- the 'donating couple' are able to continue in their own treatment with less of a financial burden and the 'recipient couple'* have the benefit of a chance at achieving pregnancy utilizing someone else's eggs.
