Should i wait until next month for ivf to give accupuncture a fair try

Had my first apt with acupuncturist today...he suggested that i meet with their dietitian (i have a horrible diet)...i guess i think it couldn't hurt but it is the more $$$ thing that i question... any thoughts???

i am willing to try anything i just don't want to be fool for any 'ol thing these people are selling

the other thing that he suggested was maybe i should wait another cycle before starting ivf again (we were set to start in april)...since i had miscarriage in feb...he thinks i may be able to get more benefits from acupuncture if i do a few more treatments before hand

i really hate waiting but i do want the best shot at this that i can have...any feedback is welcomed

my acupuncturist says that (for him) he has a 100% IVF treatment success rate for his patients who have done 6 or more months of acupuncture. I think i'm gonna give it a go after 4 months since i'm under the impression that some people have a better shot of getting pregnant the second time around with IVF

I have been going to acupuncture for ages, for many issues, but unfortunately I haven't had luck as of yet.

What I have heard is that many experienced practitioners will require minimum of 2-3 months of treatment prior to starting ivf for a couple of reasons: to strengthen the body/balance it out, make the body more receptive to the ivf process and to increase the odds of a bfp.

I am going to start seeing an acupuncturist, but his focus is herbs, rather than acupuncture (I have been seeing another acupuncturist for both herbs/acu, but I am going to change since he seems a bit more agressive and I think at this point I need that). He has been in practice for 30 years (trained in China) and requires ALL fertility patients to be on herbs for 3 months prior to ivf. It seems like a long time, but considering the cost involved in ivf and how hard it is, I'm going to wait the 3 months and give it a good go.

Hope this helps.

Sharon
