Thought I would reply, although I probably won't be much help. I don't know much about what is a normal reaction. But I remember I checked into it, and from what I read you shouldn't feel any different afterwards.....but I was really tired after each session. Like I would HAVE to take a nap, which is totally abnormal for me, since I never take naps. I hope someone out there can enlighten us, now I am definitely interested. I wonder if it is because of the energy in our bodies, like you said.

I go for acupuncture about once a week. I was a bit sceptical at first but after my first session I was hooked. I have always had a lot of pain with my cycle, and the acupuncture really helps with this. To my knowledge it should not cause nausea, in fact there are plenty of people that are on chemo and go for nausea prevention. Any chance it could have been related to anything else?

When I did acupuncture a few years ago I would get horrible headaches about an hour afterwords. I would have to lay down and nap. Once I told the Dr what was going on, he adjusted the treatment to include headache prevention and that helped. I also found that I had to take a nap after my session, in fact the Dr encouraged it .. and I am not a nap person unless I am sick. Unfortunately, acupuncture was not the way for me at the time. Not to say that I wouldnt do it again because I would and am looking into it again. It was the most relaxing hour and then the following days after were incredible .. I had energy and I felt great. Talk to your Dr and let him know that you are feeling sick after the sessions and there may be something he can add to or take away from your session that will help. Good luck!!

Hi Ladies,
thank you for all your replies, i have not been online for a while so please forgive me for not replying to your replies before. I found a great website which i was reading before my computer crashed and i cant find it now, but wanted to post it on here if anyone was interested. It mentioned that the nausea can just be a cause of needleshock or the need to have to have something to eat before the session of acupuncture as i suppose lying down for an hour and having all the energy in your body moving around, can make you feel a bit dizzy and nauseas when standing up. Anyway i went for another session yesterday and it was far better than the previous session and i did'nt feel nauseaus after!!! I also need to have a nap after the session but it is great excuse for me, as i love sleeping (terrible i know). Anyway i am looking forward to getting my now this month after having a couple of acupuncture sessions and seeing what changes if any it has had on my cycle and more importantly if i can ovulate on my own (have been on 3cycles of clomid and gynae thought that this month we should not continue so i am doing a cycle on my own...... ).If i can find that link i spoke about earlier i will post it on here for you all to have a read through. Thanks again Wishing you all lots of ![]()

Hi Ladies,
Had another session of acupuncture this morning and while i was waiting i found some information that my acupuncturist had written up and in there was a bit on reactions which may occur and i thought that maybe you might find it interesting. Although symptoms differ from person to person. *Shooting sensation (same as hitting the funny bone) is an instant surge of blocked or involuntary body movement can occur. *Emotional outbursts can also be experienced i.e laughing or crying etc *With insertions and manipulation of the needle, various reactions are felt on different points causing different sensations. i.e dizziness, nauseousness or faiting; this is sue to a strong imbalance that is being corrected. *Bleeding after the needle is withdrawn or bruising may also occur. This is sometimes done purposefully to boost the immune system. *Reactions to treatment can last up to 1-3 days after a session. This is due to the fact that the body is still responding to treatment. *Relief can be felt immediately or delayed or the opposite could occur. *Imbalance/Illness develops gradually over time; treatments assist through stages therefore more than one session is often needed. So i am glad that what i was experiencing was because the acupuncture was doing it's job ![]() Good luck to you and sending you lots of ![]()
