Diet while doing acupuncture & herbs

Has anyone changed their diet??? If so do have any recomendations . I was told I couldn't have beef, pork caffine, dairy, chocalate, and candy, etc... I was told to drink 8-10 glasses of water, 4 cups of green tea, and chamoile tea before bed. I'm allowed to eat lamb, fish, squid, seaweed and chicken. I do have a receipe for congee soup that will try to make tomorrow. I just wanted to know what everyone else has been eating on their day to day menu.

Best of luck to you all. I hope pray that your day will come soon.

Aloha,
Sandy

diet

You know, it is really getting to be a chore. I am dying to get pregnant, but all of these diet recommendations and lifestyle changes are making me crazy. It's so frustrating, I have friends that drink bottles of wine up to their + HPT. My friend at work just told me this morning that she had 2 glasses of wine every day during the holiday week and she is 4 1/2 months! I am also pursuing an accupuncturist. Best of luck!!!

During my IVF cycle I did cut back on some things. Gave up caffiene and didn't eat beef. I stuck to chicken and lots of fruits and veggies. I was drinking green tea everyday from June until October and have recently started drinking it again. I'm not sure how the diet ties in with the acupuncture or the herbs you are taking....

Infertllity diet

Hello Sandy and all,

I bought a book back a while ago called The Infertility Diet: Get Pregnant and Prevent Miscarriage by Fern Reiss. It is easy reading and has foods to eat and avoid with reasoning as to why and why not. I've not lived by it 100%, but am looking into getting serious about it here soon. My acup. said to stay away from foods treated with hormones because it can have an affect on your hormone levels.

Things that are supposed to be good for fertility according to this book are yams, soy, nuts, whole foods, kelp, cruciferous veggies (ie-broccoli, cabbage, etc.), alfalfa and leafy greens, and wheat germ.

Things to avoid.....dairy(hormone treated), meat(due to dioxins produced during manufacturing), ginger (once used to induce abortion....causes uterine contractions), soft cheese, rhubarb, and peas.

This is a pretty good list of foods this book mentions, but yes, there are more!!! Ugghhh!!!! This is all just too much work!

There are also foods that can help or hinder fertility for different IF problems.......hypothyroidism, estrogen/progesterone levels, cervical mucus, etc.

Great book, but if you don't want to purchase it, I'd be happy to look up info and pass it on!!! Hope some of you find it helpful!!

Wendy

I have been eating healthy for the past few months. My ideal diet for the day would be:
Breakfast - Egg, whole grain sprouted bread, milk
Lunch - Brown rice, any meat, vegetables
Same thing for dinner.
I have fruits and walnuts in between meals.

I cannot always stick to it a 100% but I do try to do this for the most part. It is some work, but its a matter of getting used to.
Seasoning meat and throwing it in the oven and then steaming a few vegetables does not take that long.

I have cut down on coffee, chocolates and almost completely eliminated baked good becuase they contain refined flour and sugar.

Awww, thank gals. Wendy the book sounds good I'm gonna go to the book store today . Changing your diet is hard especially when DH isn't dieting with me. I do pretty good I been taking the dogs for their walk and doing yoga every other day. In the morning I'll have 2 cups of green tea and organic wheat toast with peanut butter and light jelly. For lunch creamy tomaeto soup and low salt crackers. Dinner is hard since hubbys home I try to be good but I find myself taking a few bites out of whatever he's eating.

Girls, I wishing you all the luck in the world. I hope this is the answer and that our day will come soon. God bless each and everyone of you.

,
Sandy
