Accupuncure cost?

I'm considering accupuncture and was wondering how much it's going to cost. I don't know if my insurance will cover it or not. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have been doing acupuncture since last year as part of the IVF process. My insurance covers it and I pay about $25 per visit co-pay I have been paying $80 per visit this year, since I need to meet my deductible before the coverage kicks in. I don't know if my acupuncturist costs more since she specializes in fertility tx. Also, please note that I only have coverage b/c she codes tx as tendonitis tx (which I do have). For some reason, the hospital I work for (the same one I go to for tx), will not cover any type of fertility treatment (including diagnostic).. don't get me started about the irony. I should just have them transfer my paycheck every month to the fert. clinic. You may need to do some research before you select the right person. Good luck!

my RE's office has an accupuncturist in the office. she has a special, $150 for 2 sessions. not sure if that is a good deal or not. i didn't really shop around, because it is so convenient that she is in the same building as my RE. good luck!

I pay $75/session. It is really great. If you can swing it, I highly recommend it. Make sure you find one that specializes in fertility.

I don't want to steal your thread shelli, but I have been considering accu too so I also have a question along those lines:

How often do you go?

I am going to a chiro/acupunturist so I pay $50 all together for both. My insurance will pay for some chiro but not acupunture. I get a discount on it from the doctor though. I went once a week for two months then went every other week last month. This month I will only go once. I did a total of 10 treatments so far. Next month I will be tested again and start a new plan possibly.

I think it depends on what you are doing. More for IVF for sure. For my IUIs I have been going 1-3x a cycle. My acupuncturist went away for Christmas then got sick, so I didn't see her for a month. They do different things depending on what part of the cycle you are in. Before O, they do electrostimulation (basically hook your needles in your back to a battery that gives you small tingling sensations). After O they won't do that. I believe it really works. My lining has increased, even after 11 cycles of clomid! My AFC has gone up. I feel better after doing it. I totally recommend it. This cycle I only had the chance to go once (this past Friday) which was right around implantation time. So she did needles where they would help implantation. It is pretty cool.

Before my ET my acupuncturists charged $135 per session. On the day of ET I had acupuncture before and after the ET which cost $395. It was great, I am not sure if it contributed to my transfer working but it sure felt great!!!! If I had insurance coverage I would still be going!

I go once or twice a week. It costs me 75 to 90 a session depending on which office I go to. I see someone in the city at lunch during the week and someone else on the weekend.

I am starting on Friday. The first appointment is $65 and it is $45 for follow up appointments. She specializes in infertility and did an internship with Randine Lewis (the author of the infertility cure). I think a lot of the cost has to do with where you are located and how many other acupunturists there are in the area. I live in Waco, Texas, and there are no RE's here. I think there were 4 or 5 acupuncturists listed in the yellow pages, so there is obviously not a big demand thus far.

I pay $70 each time and do it twice a week. Yes, it does add up and unfortunately insurance doesn't cover it for me. But I really have found it so helpful in keeping my stress levels low. I so look forward to my treatments.

I have paid $75 per session (30 min). I think accupuncture costs vary by region and by practitioner. I have heard of lower costs than that, but it was convenient for me in terms of location.

Good luck to you!

The cost of my accupuncture treatment is $80 per session. I go twice a week. Add on top cost of vitamins/herbs, at home heat therapy. All that adds on maybe another $50/month.

I am starting acu on Wed. It is $70 per session. I think it is totally worth it. From what I have read on trials it can really increase success.
