Exclamation Desperate!! After 2 failed IVF, is there a way to improve egg quality?

Dear all

I am new to this forum, so i will start by introducing myself. I come from and live in Spain, 31 years, in theory all ok, and have gone through 2 IVF-ISCI, and the diagnosis is that my eggs are bad quality (my husband's sperm is extremely "lazy" "coward" and uncooperative". Since I managed to obtain 1 egg to implant from each IVF, my doctor says he is going to give me one "last chance" before talking about egg donation. My question is, PLEASE, is there someone there whose eggs have improved in quality after acupuncture?
Thank you
Marta

I too have had 2 failed IVF's. I start my shots for my 3rd cycle in a couple of weeks. I started having acupuncture almost 4 months ago in hopes that it will improve my response to stimulation, egg quality/quantity, etc. I can't say yet if it has helped the egg quality but will know in a few weeks. I CAN say that it has helped lower my FSH (from 11 to 8.8). I was told by my RE that they anticipated much higher than 11 but instead it was well within the normal range. So...??? I enjoy my treatments. It keeps me relaxed, focused and I personally feel that acupuncture is helping. My acupuncturist also has me take herbs (in pill form) along with l-arginine, dhea (75 mg) fish oil and of course prenatal vitamins. If you have an acupuncturist in your area that specializes in fertility I would definitely say to talk over your situation with them and see what they say. Always go with what you feel is best for you. Good luck on your journey!

Marta-

I had 5 cycles of IVF and four of them failed or resulted in miscarriages due to poor egg quality.
I did acupuncture and took bee pollen and royal jelly(from the bee hive) and did one more IVF cycle before I as going to move to donor. I used a different RE and we changed my protocol to the basic Luron and FOllistim protocol. My new Re also beleived that the amount of drugs I was on and the high doses also damaged the quality.
Well here I am almost four months pregnant. It worked and I would definitely say that acupuncture had a lot to do with it. Best of luck to you. DO you mid if I ask your age? Please feel free to PM me anytime.

Smile Thank you girls!

Your emails have made my day! In reply to your question ScootiesGirl, I am 31, my husband 32. I feel somewhat stupid, I now can't believe when I started this journey how positive I was I was going to be pregnant at a first try. Well, at least this acupuncture stuff has thrown some light to my life. Thanks for sharing your experiences. If there is anything I can do for you just let me know! I work as a translator and thanks to that, I found out about acupuncture, pretty no one in Spain believes in those kind of things and when I started searching for answers in web pages in other languages it was a big relief to read testimonials from women in the US. The only thing is that as most testimonials belonged to acupuncture web pages, I was not sure about the truth. Now with yours I feel much more relieved.
I promise to get back with my feedback on how it works for me, just in case it can help someone else in the future.
Good luck Scottiesgirl with your next treatment! Let me know how it goes!
Congratulations hopeful2bmom! Fantastic news! Take lots of care
Kisses, always grateful,

Marta
