My wife and I had 2 failed IUI's with clomid.

Basically, the doctor told us that he thinks the uterine lining is developing too slow and when the egg is released it is not thick enough to hold the egg. He says that she might need to take medications to slow down the ovulation time and give the uterine lining time to develope correctly.

With that said, we are not financially able to continue these treatments as we have no medical insurance.

So, my sisters friend whom is in her 40's and her husband being 65 recently had a baby. When they found out my wife and I are TTC, they immediatly reccomended accupuncture. Their doctor told them it is almost impossible for them to concieve!

We finally went. She did not complain of any pain at all. Infact, she was very relaxed and snoozed!

She could not wait til the next appointment because it felt so relaxing to her.

Basically, she had back pain and constant urges to urinate (Sorry tmi), ever since 1st accupucture, she goes less and dose not complain about her back as much. I definetly did not see her this happy for a while so I like it as much as she does!

She is now going once a week and this week he put her on this Ovulation Support tea.

We are trying naturally without medication or medical procudures at the moment.

can anyone share any success stories if there are any?

I do not have a success story (I am hoping that will change). However, I had 3 failed medicated IUI cycles, the last one being in February. I started acupuncture right before the last IUI, and have been going in since. My lining was also thin. My IUI's were on days 12 or 13, due to my follicle size. They told me that I was an early ovulator, probably because of a decreased ovarian reserve. I am now in my second full cycle of acupuncure and trying naturally (for some reason she does does not do acupuncture after ovulation). Anyway - this cycle I am on day 17. My OPK was positive yesterday, so it, or some of the herbs or supplements I am taking, definitely delayed my ovulation, hopefully allowing more time for the lining to develop. Since I, too, am going natural this cycle, I have not had it measured. But I am hoping! Let me know how it turns out for you guys!

I had my successful FET (frozen embryo transfer) after I started acupuncture, so I'm a big believer now.

I am also a big believer. After all my failed cycles I decided to give accupunture a try this last IVF and voila!!! I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins!!! I wish you the best of luck!!!

I'm thinking about starting the acupuncture with my 1st IVF coming up -- does it hurt at all....?? I just don't know what to expect...LOL- Although the needles shouldn't be an issue since I give myself my injections for treatment....but the thoughts of needles in my head, etc seems a little more scary to me!

I had my first IVF and I combined it with weekly treatments of acupuncture (plus one before and after the transfer) and I got my on March 24! I believe the acupuncture helps in so many ways...blood flow to the uterus which is good, relaxation which is crucial, and it also helps with any other ailments you may have...all taken care of at the same time! It can be costly (if your insurance doesn't cover it) and MAKE sure you have a licensed acupuncturist who specializes in fertility patients.

I did accupuncture for three months prior to my last IVF cycle. I am convinced, that- with taking bee pollen and royal jelly(from beehive) got me pregnant.
I always highly recommend it. My lining was super thick and my eggs were the best quality they have evr been.

I am a success story too. I just found out today that I'm pregnant. I did two unsuccessful cycles of IVF and was told by me RE that we had only 15% chance of a 3rd cycle working. I had already been doing accupuncture for several months, so I continued with that and also made some big changes to my diet and exercise routine, took supplements and herbs, and did a lot of emotional/spiritual work on letting go of my frustrations and resentments over this process. And then boom! Two months later, here we are. It's too early to feel like we're home free, but I know that without the treatments and the changes that I made, we never would have been able to get this far naturally.

I just wanted to address your concerns about the pain of acupuncture. I did not find it very painful, particularly the acupuncture sites for fertility treatment. In fact, I don't think I've ever had needles in my face for fertility treatments. (But I've been to acupuncture for other ailments.) The ones that hurt the most to me were the needles in the feet and ankles. I think those spots are for anti-stress rather than fertility, though.

I'm starting acupuncture after 4 failed IUI's before we go to IVF. I start next week and have no idea how it will go or what my real issues are. I can only say that I'm so glad this posting was out there and there's hope for a BFP!
