I had my second ever acupunture appointment today. The first was at a clinic that specializes in fertility issues, but it is a stressful hour drive from my house, so I tried someone closer to home this time. It was a little - different. She said she is certified in some kind of energy work - I can't remember what it is called. While the needles were in, she did lots of waving her palms around my belly and other areas. She said she was reading and manipulating the energy. At the end, she said that she saw 5 bright lights in my abdominal area. This is a little weird because I did have 6 mature follicles before my trigger. One of them was smaller than the others, though. It just seemed a little hokey to me - talking about seeing bright lights. Maybe, however, I am just new to this. Anyone have an experience like this one?

I have been twice now to the acupunturist and she did nothing like you are describing. She did spend a lot of time with me discussing what she thought the issues were, but did not do anything that was predictions or talking about seeing lights. I found it really relaxing and felt very even when I left.
Weird, I kind of expected the person/treatment that you got when you talk about acupuncture, but mine is also a MD and deals mostly in Chinese medicine. She was trained in China. Maybe that's the difference?
Anyway, Good luck and I hope this is a great cycle for you! I'm ovulating now and go next Thursday for another treatment so we'll see what she does in the 2WW.

Does the name Reiki sound like it might have been what she was doing? It is a way of manipulating energy without using needles. I am not sure if they see lights, however.
