I had my first acupuncture treatment today and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!! I'm in shock! Long story short, after taking a brief medical history from me, the doctor said that yes, he believed he could help. He had me lay back, then he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and ran his hands down my body without touching me. Then he started palpating my abdomen. I felt completely fine, no pain or anything when I went in, but he found a place on my right side that HURT as soon as he touched it.

He told me, "watch this", and had me keep palpating the same area while he started inserting the needles into my legs. With EACH NEEDLE, it started hurting less and less, and then he had me lay in the dark under a warming light for 30 minutes. When I left, the pain in the area was just barely noticeable when I touched the area. I just checked now, and it's completely gone.

What REALLY makes that amazing, is that I didn't tell him that I have occasional pain in that area, especially when I sneeze or cough, and my REI said that it's possibly scar tissue from the myomectomy! I didn't say a word about it to him and he zeroed in on that EXACT AREA!!

I did tell him that when I was paying and picking up the herbs, and he said that yes, he felt that I have a blockage there. Which is amazing to me because when I had my HSG back in January, the doctor that did it NEVER got the dye to go all the way through my tubes, but told me that she felt that they were open!!!! I'm just in shock. How weird is that?

I have a TON of herb pills to take, (30 a day of one, and 15 a day of the other-----one is for my PCOS and the other for the blockage), but it will be SO WORTH IT if this works.

What type of DR is this ? Maybe I should look into accupunture ?

He's got a TON of credentials, including a PhD in molecular biology, but he and his wife are both doctors of traditional Chinese medicine. I'm just still amazed when I think about this. I went in not quite a skeptic, but unsure of it all.......I guess wanting to be convinced. If I get pregnant this cycle I will DEFINITELY be a believer. It just blows my mind that someone that I spent 5 minutes talking to, that I've never seen in my life, can just put his hands EXACTLY on my body where I have pain without me telling him where it is.

Thank you! I can't believe I've gone from someone who was terrified of needles to someone actively pursuing acupuncture! *L* The needles definitely didn't hurt, I would compare it to like a static shock when you've shuffled your feet on carpet......but it is weirdly relaxing.
